Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henry Honeycutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jase Hein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hein has chosen perfect enemies as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Honeycutt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jase Hein! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Honeycutt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hein pinned against the cage. Hein gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Henry Honeycutt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Honeycutt shoots for a takedown but Hein saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Honeycutt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hein sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Honeycutt somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Honeycutt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hein closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hein is working for a kimura but Honeycutt is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hein is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Honeycutt manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hein postures up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hein slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nice takedown defense from Hein. No joy for Honeycutt on that attempt. Honeycutt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hein doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Honeycutt tries to clinch but Hein moves away so Hein counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Honeycutt will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Honeycutt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Honeycutt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Honeycutt trying to mount his opponent but Hein defends it. Hein is defending against the submission attempts here by Honeycutt.
Hein is not content to let Honeycutt control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Honeycutt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hein doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Honeycutt. Honeycutt is trying to control. Hein wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hein is pressing down on Honeycutt's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Honeycutt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Hein looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Honeycutt works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hein felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Honeycutt is trying to control. Hein wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hein throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Honeycutt wants to free his trapped foot but Hein is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hein is staying active underneath Honeycutt, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hein shoots for a double leg takedown but Honeycutt sprawls well. He's pushed Hein's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Honeycutt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hein swivels and escapes. Hein changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Honeycutt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hein sprawls well. Hein wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Honeycutt gets slowly back to his feet. Hein shoots in for a takedown but Honeycutt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Honeycutt shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Honeycutt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hein defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Honeycutt. Hein closes the distance and clinches. Honeycutt looking to stall.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Honeycutt blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hein gets underhooks to prevent Honeycutt's takedown attempt.
Honeycutt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hein after a bit of a struggle. Honeycutt is trying to pull guard but Hein turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hein pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Honeycutt fails with the takedown and Hein counters with a nice uppercut. Honeycutt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hein as he jumps to the side. A jab from Hein misses. Honeycutt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hein to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hein is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Honeycutt keeping moving, preventing Hein from controlling successfully. Jase Hein has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hein makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Honeycutt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hein wants to stand and escape but Honeycutt is having none of it. Honeycutt trying to control but Hein is working from the bottom. Honeycutt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Honeycutt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Honeycutt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Honeycutt wants to control from the top but Hein keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Honeycutt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hein closes the distance and clinches up with Honeycutt, looking for a takedown. Hein pushes Honeycutt against the cage but Honeycutt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Honeycutt shoots in for a double leg but Hein sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Honeycutt has a takedown stuffed. Hein gets a takedown into half guard. Hein seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Honeycutt is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Bruize Brothers, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Jase Hein showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Honeycutt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hein would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hein throws an elbow that misses. Honeycutt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hein's guard. Nice move by Honeycutt! Hein is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hein keeping moving, preventing Honeycutt from controlling successfully. Hein wants to hit a switch here but Honeycutt passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hein there! Honeycutt trying to control but he's not successful this time. Honeycutt is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hein has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hein is in all sorts of trouble here.
