Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Lawlor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelos Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lawlor comes into the arena with Irigy Hónaljmirigy - Rúgj Chuck Norris (Chuck Norris parody by Hungarians) blaring out of the sound system. Stamatis has chosen Audiomachine - Earth Shaker as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angelos Stamatis! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stamatis misses with a straight left. Lawlor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stamatis moves away. Lawlor misses with the combination.
Stamatis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lawlor defends well and Stamatis ends up having to push Lawlor into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Lawlor has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mello MMA in the buildup to the fight. Stamatis jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lawlor throws a looping overhand right but Stamatis ducks down to avoid it. Lawlor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stamatis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lawlor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stamatis pinned against the cage. Stamatis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Lawlor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stamatis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lawlor gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like John Lawlor has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lawlor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stamatis sprawls well initially but Lawlor persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Stamatis has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at The Factory. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Lawlor trying to mount his opponent but Stamatis defends it. Stamatis wants to improve his position but Lawlor is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stamatis is trying to maintain the position but Lawlor is very close to passing his half guard. Stamatis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawlor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stamatis works his way to full guard. Good work. Lawlor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lawlor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stamatis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lawlor's guard.
Stamatis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Stamatis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lawlor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lawlor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stamatis won't allow Lawlor to sweep him here. Lawlor working a defensive guard here.
Lawlor is looking for a triangle but Stamatis pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stamatis is working Lawlor over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Stamatis stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Lawlor throws up his legs and catches Stamatis in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Stamatis tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Lawlor! That came out of nowhere!
