Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel MetCalf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Santaros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dexter Santaros!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MetCalf throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Santaros.
Santaros's jab looks to have found its range, popping MetCalf under the eye.
Santaros lands a head shot.
Dexter Santaros seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
MetCalf lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Santaros looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for MetCalf!
MetCalf can't do much from the bottom here.
Santaros content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santaros throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and MetCalf works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

MetCalf wants to get back to full guard.
MetCalf is working hard here to advance position.
MetCalf is staying active underneath Santaros, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
MetCalf knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santaros on the ground.
Santaros is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
MetCalf wants to get back to his feet.
MetCalf moves into full guard.
Santaros is looking to advance position but MetCalf has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Santaros is working to get back to half guard.
Santaros is bucking up trying to escape but MetCalf cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Santaros is in all sorts of trouble here.
Santaros tries to hold on but MetCalf pushes him away.
Santaros tries to reverse the position but MetCalf maintains control.
Santaros bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Santaros wants to control from the top but MetCalf keeps moving.

Santaros might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control MetCalf haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
MetCalf wants to sweep here but Santaros controlling him for the moment.

Santaros wants to control from the top but MetCalf keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MetCalf wants to hit a switch here but Santaros passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for MetCalf there!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Santaros prevents MetCalf from getting the reversal.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Santaros working for a submission but MetCalf is keeping him at bay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dexter Santaros dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


MetCalf misses with a straight right.
MetCalf is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Santaros misses with an uppercut.
MetCalf throws a head kick that misses.
MetCalf tries to close the distance and clinch but Santaros swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Santaros throws a predictable looking body shot
and MetCalf makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Santaros really felt that one!

and Santaros counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Santaros throws a lazy right hand but MetCalf sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A bone on bone clash there as Santaros blocks the leg kick.
MetCalf takes one to the chin there.
Horrible takedown attempt by Santaros or perhaps it was just good defense by MetCalf, which made it look bad.

MetCalf looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Santaros manages to get to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Santaros looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Santaros working for a triangle but MetCalf defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as MetCalf accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
MetCalf won't allow Santaros to sweep him here.
Santaros is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Santaros manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. MetCalf manages to get himself to full guard.

Santaros pushes down on MetCalf's leg and manages to get into half guard.
MetCalf trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
MetCalf is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
MetCalf manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Santaros sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Santaros is looking for a kimura here.
Santaros trying to mount his opponent but MetCalf defends it.
Well, if Santaros is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Santaros is looking to stall here but MetCalf recovers full guard.
Santaros is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Santaros stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MetCalf swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santaros wants to control from the top but MetCalf keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dexter Santaros showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Santaros changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. MetCalf tries to avoid it but Santaros manages to keep hold of a leg and drag MetCalf to the ground. MetCalf escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Santaros lands a nice shot to the body.
Santaros throws a body shot but no joy.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Santaros.
As Santaros tries to get set, MetCalf tries to push him back and clinch up but Santaros manages to avoid the attempt.
Santaros swings and misses with a shot to the body
and MetCalf counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
MetCalf throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Santaros! But no joy.
MetCalf needs to keep his hands up - Santaros had a free shot at his head there.
MetCalf lands a head kick. Santaros smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
MetCalf is looking to slow Santaros down with leg kicks.
MetCalf avoids the body shot from Santaros.
Daniel MetCalf is winning the standup battle so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santaros walks into a jab.

MetCalf throws a leg kick that is checked
and Santaros counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MetCalf takes a shot right to the bread basket.
MetCalf tries a low kick but Santaros avoids it.

MetCalf keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
MetCalf throws the left hand but Santaros avoids the punch easily.
MetCalf shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Santaros goes for a double leg but MetCalf avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as MetCalf continues to drive forward.
Daniel MetCalf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dexter Santaros.

MetCalf misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Santaros throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent MetCalf stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Santaros swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Santaros throws an ugly left hook that misses
and MetCalf counters with an inside leg kick.
Daniel MetCalf is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Santaros misses with a hook.

MetCalf is looking to chop away at Santaros's legs.
A slapping leg kick lands for MetCalf.
Santaros connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

MetCalf ducks under a wild hook from Santaros.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Santaros takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
MetCalf attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
MetCalf throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Santaros tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but MetCalf was well out of range. Poor timing from Santaros.

MetCalf throws a leg kick but Santaros sees it coming and checks it nicely.

MetCalf connects with a leg kick. Santaros looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
MetCalf dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Santaros. That did some damage!
Santaros fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. MetCalf looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Santaros misses with a hook.
MetCalf plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Santaros looks to land a right hand but MetCalf moved out of range.
MetCalf motions for Santaros to come forward. MetCalf throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
MetCalf throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Santaros scores with the left hand. MetCalf knows he should have avoided that one.
Santaros fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
MetCalf throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Santaros looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Santaros on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
MetCalf gets cracked there but stands up to it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Santaros is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but MetCalf is defending well.
Daniel MetCalf has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Santaros misses with a short punch on the inside.
MetCalf tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
MetCalf lands with a right to the head.
Dexter Santaros is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
MetCalf landing knees to the head.
MetCalf tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Santaros avoids it.
MetCalf throws an elbow that misses.
Santaros blocks an elbow strike.
MetCalf is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Santaros is trying to drag MetCalf to the mat but MetCalf just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel MetCalf.
I think Santaros has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
