Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcin Sokol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal Barca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sokol might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DMX - X gon' give it to Ya. Barca is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Carthage. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcin Sokol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barca shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barca showed some decent athleticism there.
Barca thows a huge punch but Sokol dodges it nicely.
Sokol has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barca is working away from the top position though.
Barca is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sokol defends it well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barca bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sokol's head backwards.
Sokol ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Barca decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sokol's guard.
Sokol wants to get back to his feet but Barca is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Barca drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barca jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcin Sokol will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barca looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sokol has picked Barca up and slammed him! Barca can't keep hold of the triangle and Sokol manages to pass to side control!

Barca is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sokol is defending well though. Barca let's go of the attempt for now.
