Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Olaf Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ian Mackaye!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackaye is looking to clinch.
Mackaye fails with the takedown
and Frost counters with a two punch combo.
Ian Mackaye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mackaye falls off balance throwing a combination
and Frost counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Mackaye misses with a takedown attempt
and Frost counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mackaye's knee momentarily.
Frost punishes Mackaye's body with a nice straight punch.
Mackaye throws a head kick that misses
and Frost counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Mackaye looks winded!
Mackaye throws a left and a right that both miss
and Frost counters with an inside leg kick.
Frost takes the fight into the clinch.
Frost lands with a short head shot on the inside.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Frost escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mackaye has his takedown stuffed
and Frost counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Olaf Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Mackaye.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mackaye misses with a takedown attempt
and Frost connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Frost cracks Mackaye with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Mackaye tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Frost pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Mackaye is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Olaf Frost!
Olaf Frost decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
