Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yan Beliveau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mongolia Heed! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beliveau throws a head kick that misses and Heed counters with a nice double leg into guard. Beliveau being controlled here, momentarily. Beliveau is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Beliveau utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Beliveau keeping full guard, as Heed tries to pass. Heed controls the pace of the fight for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heed wants to control from the top but Beliveau keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Heed is looking to work some ground and pound but Beliveau has wrist control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Heed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Heed gets the takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heed cracks Beliveau with a big elbow. Beliveau tries to improve position but can't. Heed misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Heed in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Heed crashes against the mat.

Beliveau manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Heed is in trouble now - Beliveau has advanced to mount! Beliveau is trying to control here but Heed has managed to regain half guard.
Beliveau is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Heed is just riding it out for now. Beliveau eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heed avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Beliveau. Heed is not content to let Beliveau control the position. Beliveau is pressing down on Heed's thigh, looking to free his foot. Heed is holding on for now. Heed manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Beliveau keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Heed wants a takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Heed goes for a takedown attempt but Beliveau pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Heed shoots in and drives through. Beliveau sprawls well. Yan Beliveau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mongolia Heed. Heed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beliveau as he avoids it easily. Beliveau displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Heed. It looked like Beliveau was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Heed keeps the fight on the outside. Beliveau stuffs the takedown. Heed shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Heed looks to land a strike but Beliveau avoids it nicely and regains full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mongolia Heed dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Beliveau fakes the leg kick and cracks Heed in the body. A head kick misses from Beliveau. Heed gets a double leg takedown into Beliveau's guard. Beliveau wants to sweep here but Heed controlling him for the moment. Heed throws a big elbow that misses. Heed throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Beliveau wants to sweep but no luck. Beliveau is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Heed is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heed is looking to work some ground and pound but Beliveau has wrist control. Heed lands some shots froms side control. A lull in the action here as Heed stalls from top position. Heed in side control lands a decent elbow. Heed cracks Beliveau with a big right hand but Beliveau just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sloppy strikes there by Heed. Beliveau is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Heed off and has taken his back! Beliveau gets his hands free as Heed looks to control.
