Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kiri Parata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Babak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parata comes to the cage accompanied by Rumplestiltskin. Babak is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lose yourself - Eminem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parata throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Babak throws a body kick that misses.
Babak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parata but Parata pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parata fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Babak has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Parata looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Parata moves out of range as Babak throws a body kick.
Parata seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

and Parata counters with a stiff right hand.
Kiri Parata has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohammed Babak.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Babak fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Parata to the ground. Babak is now in Parata's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Babak seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Parata tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Babak manages to move to mount!

Babak working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Parata looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Babak! Submission of the night perhaps?

In his post fight interview, Mohammed Babak started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
