Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shane Gerald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rik Deen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gerald might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Walk Like An Egyptian. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Gerald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rik Deen! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Deen misses and Gerald decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Deen's guard. Deen is trying to control the position but Gerald postures up. Deen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gerald wants to pass the guard but Deen is keeping the position. Deen trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Gerald drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gerald jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Deen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gerald sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Deen's guard. Deen pushes Gerald off looking to stand but Gerald dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Deen actively working from the bottom here. Gerald is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gerald thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gerald is trying to control. Deen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gerald is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Deen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gerald is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Deen is defending against the submission attempts here by Gerald.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gerald is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Deen is just riding it out for now. Gerald eventually gives up the hold. Gerald is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gerald looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gerald is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Gerald prevents Deen from improving his position. Deen looks winded! Well, if Gerald is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shane Gerald! Shane Gerald tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
