Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ric Flair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Sandfil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flair comes to the cage accompanied by ric flair theme song. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ric Flair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wade Sandfil! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flair moves out of range as Sandfil strikes. Sandfil stuffs the takedown. Flair slips a jab and a cross from Sandfil.
Sandfil shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Flair counters by moving into the clinch. Sandfil breaks the clinch.
Sandfil with a poor takedown and Flair decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sandfil's guard. Flair throwing strikes from guard but Sandfil blocks nicely. Flair prevents Sandfil from getting back to his feet. Flair throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sandfil is trying to control the position but Flair postures up. Sandfil looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Flair tries to free his leg and advance position but Sandfil is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flair drops back looking for a leg! Sandfil is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sandfil manages to kick Flair off! Flair jumps back into Sandfil's guard. Sandfil has a closed guard, preventing Flair from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sandfil tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sandfil rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Flair moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sandfil misses with a takedown attempt and Flair counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ric Flair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wade Sandfil. Sandfil looks gassed! Flair thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sandfil's head. Flair not landing any meaningful shots this time. Flair is trying to control the action in half guard but Sandfil is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Flair blocks the strikes from Sandfil.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flair trying to mount his opponent but Sandfil defends it. Sandfil tries to roll over but Flair keeps him under control. Sandfil is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Flair is trying to work for a kimura but Sandfil is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandfil is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Flair is controlling him. Flair trying to control but Sandfil is working from the bottom. Flair knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sandfil on the ground. Flair won't allow Sandfil to sweep him here. Flair is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Flair throwing strikes from guard but Sandfil blocks nicely. Flair preventing the sweep.

Flair postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Sandfil keeping moving, preventing Flair from controlling successfully. Flair distracts Sandfil with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Flair wants to get up but he can't break Sandfil's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Flair prevents Sandfil from getting back to his feet. Flair passes Sandfil's left leg - he's now in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Flair not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sandfil trying to control here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ric Flair dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Flair looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sandfil tries for a takedown but Flair circles away easily and Flair counters with a takedown into side control. Sandfil is trying to control Flair's posture but Flair avoids it. Sandfil takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Sandfil is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sandfil is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sandfil is defending against the submission attempts here by Flair.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandfil is pressing down on Flair's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Flair is looking to work some ground and pound but Sandfil has wrist control. Flair wants to control from the top but Sandfil keeps moving. Flair is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sandfil is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sandfil has escaped and now he's on top! Flair on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Flair tries to get out of the position. Sandfil tries to stand but Flair is controlling from the bottom. Flair looking for a sweep. Not yet Flair, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Flair has a closed guard, preventing Sandfil from standing up. Flair is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Ric Flair overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Flair trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Flair looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sandfil is one step ahead there. Sandfil thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Flair fails with the takedown letting Sandfil counter with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandfil fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Flair sprawls well initially but Sandfil persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Flair wants to get back to full guard. Flair trying to control here.
Flair is refusing to be controlled, as Sandfil sits in half guard. Sandfil is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Flair defends it well. Flair is trying to maintain the position but Sandfil is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flair is not content to let Sandfil control the position. Sandfil stops Flair from getting back to his feet.
Flair is trying to get back to full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Flair has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sandfil finds it's way round the side to connect with Flair's head. Sandfil buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Flair slips a jab and a cross from Sandfil.
Sandfil looks to land a combination but Flair avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ric Flair will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Flair fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sandfil misses with a takedown attempt and Flair counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Flair. Sandfil looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Flair working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sandfil's head. Flair wants to control from the top but Sandfil keeps moving. Sandfil keeping full guard, as Flair tries to pass. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Flair accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sandfil controls Flair momentarily but Flair frees himself. Flair won't allow Sandfil to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flair trying to control but Sandfil is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A punch combination from Sandfil misses. Flair shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Flair was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sandfil tries to reverse the position but Flair maintains control. Flair working the ground and pound effectively.
Flair trying to control but he's not successful this time. Flair is landing with some decent strikes but Sandfil is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sandfil is in all sorts of trouble here.
Flair landing punches. Sandfil working to try and regain half guard.
Flair dominating with strikes here. Sandfil sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Sandfil regains full guard. Nicely done. Flair slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Flair is looking to advance position but Sandfil has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Flair is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandfil tries to control but Flair wriggling away. Sandfil misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sandfil wants to control the pace but Flair is squirming around nicely. Flair is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sandfil working away from the top, dropping strikes. Flair tries to hold on but Sandfil pushes him away. Sandfil stands up from mount. Strange move. Flair misses with a takedown attempt letting Sandfil counter with a right hand. Sandfil misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Flair shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sandfil as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ric Flair. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sandfil lands an overhand right. Wade Sandfil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ric Flair is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Flair fails with the takedown and Sandfil counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that's the end of the fight! Ric Flair showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Flair, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
