Kottari throws a hook but Eikmeyer avoids it easily.

and Eikmeyer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kottari's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kottari lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kottari is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Bad Pluto! (18 Elite Coach) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Eikmeyer looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Kottari is defending well. Eikmeyer quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kottari has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Eikmeyer celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

In his post fight interview, Mario Eikmeyer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
