Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jasper Irving!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Psycho Russell!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Irving. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Irving.
Irving tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Russell was well out of range. Poor timing from Irving.
Russell walks into a left hand.
Russell thows a left - swing and a miss!
Russell fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Irving checks it well.
Irving cracks a nice hook into Russell's ribs.
Irving digs a good body shot into Russell's ribs.
Irving jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Russell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Irving throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Irving throws a body punch but Russell moves out of range.
Russell misses with a leg kick
and Russell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Russell misses with an uppercut. Irving saw that one coming.
Irving blocks a low kick nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Irving misses the target.
Irving connects with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Irving throws a good cross that connects.
We've been told by Irving's head coaches at LOD: Ground Zero that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Irving throws a leg kick
and Russell counters with a two punch combo.
Russell ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Russell misses with a straight right.
Jab, jab by Russell - just one landing.
Irving tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Russell was well out of range. Poor timing from Irving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Irving misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Russell misses with a straight right.
Irving throws a looping overhand right but Russell ducks down to avoid it.
Irving scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Irving just misses with a punch to the body.
Irving misses with a double jab.
Russell pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Russell misses with a leg kick.
Irving lands with an overhand left.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Irving, right into the meat.
Russell misses with a head kick.
Irving rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Russell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Russell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Russell throws a leg kick but Irving sees it coming and moves out of range.
Russell lands a right hook to the body.
Russell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Russell misses with a left hand
and Irving counters with a stiff right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Russell lands a left and a right that send Irving crashing to the mat, dazed. Russell thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Jasper Irving seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Irving works Russell's body with a nice hook.
Irving defending well as Russell loads up on a big left hand.
Russell looks to land a right hand but Irving moved out of range.
Irving uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Russell.
Russell throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Irving colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Russell as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Irving is left battered and dazed whilst Russell and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Psycho Russell!
In his post fight interview, Psycho Russell started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
