29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sami Vasara! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasara drives through and clinches with Callaghan against the cage.
Vasara lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Richard Callaghan has been cut. Vasara managing to block the knees to the body from Callaghan.
Callaghan blocks the elbow strike.
Vasara lands a nice elbow. Vasara tries a body shot but Callaghan blocks it.
Vasara tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Callaghan avoids it. Callaghan misses with a hook from the clinch. Vasara tries to work over Callaghan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Callaghan lands with a short shot to the head. Callaghan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
It looks like Sami Vasara has been cut. Callaghan lands an elbow just above Vasara 's eye. A short left from Callaghan. Callaghan misses with the head strike.
This has been an exciting period of action! Callaghan misses with a knee to the head. Callaghan lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Callaghan scores with a shoulder strike. Callaghan gets through Vasara's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Callaghan misses with the head strike.

That's one minute gone in the round. Callaghan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Vasara blocks the elbow strike.

Callaghan lands a hook to the side of the head. Vasara prevents Callaghan from breaking the clinch. Callaghan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vasara's efforts to push away. Callaghan is trying to maintain a safe position but Vasara gets an underhook and turns Callaghan into the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Callaghan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Vasara's brow. Vasara blocks the elbow strike.
Callaghan swings wildly with an uppercut but Vasara uses good head movement to avoid it. Callaghan takes a shot to the head. Vasara tries to land a knee to the head but Callaghan blocks with his arms.
Callaghan pushes off an throws an elbow but Vasara leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Vasara throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Vasara tries to throw a body punch but Callaghan avoids it by throwing Vasara back against the cage. Vasara managing to block the knees to the body from Callaghan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Callaghan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Callaghan misses with an elbow over the top. Callaghan misses with a punch on the inside.
Vasara lands a right hand. Vasara breaks from the clinch.
Callaghan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hey Steves Fight Shack in the buildup to the fight. Callaghan connects with a high kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vasara thows a left - swing and a miss! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Callaghan looks to throw the jab but Vasara is out of range. Vasara thuds a left hand into Callaghan's body. Vasara moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. A solid leg kick lands there for Callaghan.
Callaghan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vasara. Vasara misses with a combination
and Callaghan counters with a crisp one two that drops Vasara! Callaghan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Vasara to his feet! Vasara is in big trouble!
Vasara is rocked! Callaghan lands a brutal uppercut that launches Vasara off his feet! Vasara tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
