Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Gate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Lincoln!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Lincoln.
Gate has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Lincoln lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Lincoln stuffs the takedown.
Lincoln displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gate.
Lincoln is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Gate chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lincoln can pounce on him.
Lincoln lands an overhand right.


It looks like William Gate has been cut.
Gate shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lincoln sprawls well. Lincoln wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gate gets slowly back to his feet.
A little jabbing left from Lincoln on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Gate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lincoln cracks Gate with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Gate goes for a double leg but Lincoln avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lincoln continues to drive forward.
Gate backing away here, and Lincoln unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Lincoln scores with a jab. Gate acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gate takes one to the side of the head.
Gate closes the distance and clinches up with Lincoln, looking for a takedown. Gate pushes Lincoln against the cage but Lincoln circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gate on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Lincoln defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gate.
Gate misses with a takedown
and Lincoln counters with a straight right hand.
Gate dives in for a single leg takedown but Lincoln sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A little jabbing left from Lincoln on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

William Gate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gate is breathing heavily.
Gate is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lincoln.


Gate is rocked!

Lincoln feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gate sprawling to the canvas! Gate rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lincoln finish him?!
Oh Gate is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Lincoln counters with a huge right that knocks Gate out cold! Lincoln is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
