Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Garfunkel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Guy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Buddy Guy - Five Years . Garfunkel is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Haifisch. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Buddy Guy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Garfunkel! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Guy. Guy misses the jab. Garfunkel blocks a jab. Garfunkel ducks under a wild hook from Guy. Garfunkel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Guy throws a body shot but no joy. Garfunkel feints the counter takedown. No luck for Garfunkel with that takedown attempt. Guy throws a combination that misses and Guy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Garfunkel has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Guy lands with a shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed right hand from Guy misses the target. Buddy Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garfunkel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Garfunkel throws out a powerful jab. Garfunkel moves away from the strike by Guy. Garfunkel feints the counter takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donk. Guy catches Garfunkel right on the button with a cross. Guy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Garfunkel drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Guy defends it well. Guy throws an overhand right that lands on Garfunkel's shoulder, as Garfunkel tries to avoid the shot. Garfunkel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Guy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Garfunkel tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Guy moves forwards but Garfunkel connects with a nice, crisp jab. Garfunkel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Guy. A swing and a miss from Guy. Guy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Garfunkel looks to throw the jab but Guy is out of range. Guy throws a sloppy body shot
and Garfunkel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Garfunkel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Guy. Guy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Buddy Guy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Guy takes a swing at Garfunkel's ribcage but misses. Guy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Guy jabs Garfunkel to the body, keeping him at a distance. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Guy jabbing away but nothing is landing. Guy ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Garfunkel ducks under a wild hook from Guy. Garfunkel drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Guy defends it well. Guy throws a body punch but Garfunkel moves out of range. Garfunkel feints the counter takedown. Garfunkel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guy pinned against the cage. Guy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Guy throws a nice looking combination but Garfunkel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Guy misses the jab. And Garfunkel tries to counter it with a takedown but Guy pushes his down on his head and steps out. Garfunkel has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Guy lands a jab to Garfunkel's midsection. Garfunkel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Guy. Garfunkel with the counter takedown but Guy avoids it easily. Nice body punch from Guy. Garfunkel blocks a jab. It seemed like Garfunkel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garfunkel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Guy counters with a straight right hand. Buddy Guy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Garfunkel. Guy misses with a wild body shot. Guy is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Garfunkel's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Guy misses with a lunging right hand
and Garfunkel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Guy thows a left - swing and a miss! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Buddy Guy dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Garfunkel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Guy was covering up waiting for the punch and Garfunkel finishes the takedown easily into guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Garfunkel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Garfunkel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ground and pound from Garfunkel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Garfunkel scoring with punches and elbows. Garfunkel is looking to take a break and control but Guy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Guy can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garfunkel misses with the ground and pound.
