Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stone Mountain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Rivas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rivas has chosen Cypress Hill-Insane in the Membrane as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stone Mountain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Rivas!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivas throws a left that rocks Mountain and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rivas dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Mountain regain composure!


Mountain is rocked!


It looks like Stone Mountain has been cut.

Rivas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mountain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Oh Mountain is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mountain is trying to get back to half guard.

Mountain seems to have got his legs back now.
Mountain is concentrating on defense, preventing Rivas from advancing position.
Mountain has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rivas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mountain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rivas connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mountain some visible discomfort.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Rivas counters with a right hand to the body.

Mountain has Rivas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rivas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rivas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mountain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rivas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mountain defends well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rivas throws a head kick but Mountain moves out of range.
Rivas tries to bum rush Mountain with a series of wild strikes but Mountain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rivas moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Mountain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rivas's waist but Rivas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mountain off to one side.
Rivas feints and then cracks Mountain's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mountain down.

Rivas throws a combination that misses

and Mountain decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rivas's guard.
Mountain wants to control from the top but Rivas keeps moving.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rivas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mountain defends it nicely.
Rivas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mountain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rivas's guard.

A relieved looking Stone Mountain thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
