Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yardigalovich Vasililiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bregje Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yardigalovich Vasililiev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bregje Jones! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Vasililiev, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Vasililiev against the cage but Vasililiev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've been hearing reports that Vasililiev has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Vasililiev throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Vasililiev rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. Jones is trying to force a seperation but Vasililiev has the dominant position. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Vasililiev as Jones tries to tie him up. Vasililiev wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Jones wants to stall.
Vasililiev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vasililiev is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Vasililiev circles away and we're back to standing. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vasililiev as he avoids it easily. Yardigalovich Vasililiev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bregje Jones. Jones shoots in and drives through. Vasililiev sprawls well. Vasililiev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard. Vasililiev prevents Jones from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vasililiev slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Vasililiev throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vasililiev controls the pace. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones working a defensive guard here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Vasililiev attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Jones with a poor takedown and Vasililiev counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jones! Jones tries to improve position but can't. Jones looks winded! Vasililiev content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Vasililiev is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasililiev decides to take the fight back to the feet. Jones lands with an overhand left. Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Vasililiev sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vasililiev fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones looks to land a right hand but Vasililiev moved out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Vasililiev.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Vasililiev. Those never looked like landing. Vasililiev has managed to clinch.
Vasililiev drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Vasililiev is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jones can't fight it off and eventually Vasililiev manages to take the fight to the floor. Jones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Vasililiev is proving a slippery customer.
Vasililiev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yardigalovich Vasililiev dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Vasililiev. Jones steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Vasililiev. Vasililiev drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Vasililiev preventing the sweep. Jones wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vasililiev manages to pass to side control. Jones trying to hold on to Vasililiev's head to control him but Vasililiev postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is pressing down on Vasililiev's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Vasililiev lands a couple of elbows. Jones working a defensive guard but Vasililiev passes into half guard.
Jones tries to roll over but Vasililiev keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jones trying to hold on to Vasililiev's head to control him but Vasililiev postures up.
Vasililiev working Jones over with strikes. Vasililiev is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around? Jones looking for submissions off his back. Jones is breathing heavily. Vasililiev is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is kicking away at Vasililiev from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Vasililiev grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Jones trying to push Vasililiev off... Jones taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
