Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wiz Khalifa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arjun Batar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiz Khalifa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Arjun Batar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wiz Khalifa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arjun Batar!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Batar shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Khalifa wants to improve his position but Batar is controlling well.
Batar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Batar is trying to work for a kimura but Khalifa is defending well.

Batar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khalifa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Batar's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Khalifa has momentary wrist control but Batar slips an elbow through the middle.

Khalifa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Khalifa is looking for a kimura but Batar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Khalifa to get the leverage.

Batar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khalifa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khalifa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've been hearing good reports from Khalifa's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Khalifa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Batar's guard.

Batar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Khalifa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Batar is in Khalifa's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
