Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Fin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anistavio Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcos Fin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anistavio Sousa!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sousa!

Fin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sousa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fin advances to full mount.
Sousa sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Sousa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fin is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fin is looking to take a break and control but Sousa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Sousa trying to hold on to Fin's head to control him but Fin postures up.
Sousa is in trouble now - Fin has advanced to mount!
Sousa throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Fin is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Sousa should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sousa is looking to escape.

Fin moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sousa has worked his arm free - good work by Sousa!
Sousa is looking for a sweep.
Sousa looking for a sweep but Fin has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Sousa tries to reverse the position but Fin maintains control.
Fin cracks Sousa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fin wants to control the pace but Sousa is squirming around nicely.

Fin lands a big elbow.
Sousa wants to control but Fin is having none of it.
Fin looking to control but Sousa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sousa tries to hold on but Fin pushes him away.
Sousa stops Fin from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Fin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sousa looks a forlorn figure.

Sousa is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Sousa tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fin trying to control but Sousa is having none of it.
Sousa tries to lock up and control but Fin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sousa has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Sousa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcos Fin dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Sousa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sousa is in Fin's guard.
Fin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sousa can do to turn this around?
Fin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Marcos Fin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sousa is standing up over Fin. Fin looks to escape but Sousa dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fin is trying to control Sousa's posture but Sousa avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

You can see the frustration on Fin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Sousa trying to control the action but Fin is working from the bottom.
Fin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Sousa decides to stand and escape the position.
Fin is looking to clinch but Sousa is avoiding it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fin throws a chopping leg kick but Sousa manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Marcos Fin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fin fails with the takedown.
Sousa darts in trying to clinch
and Fin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Sousa dives in and scores a takedown into Fin's guard.
Sousa postures up in Fin's guard and throws a big left but Fin blocks it.
Sousa content to stall in guard here.
Sousa passes into half guard.

Fin is trying to maintain the position but Sousa is very close to passing his half guard.
Fin is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Fin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sousa is keen to just control but Fin is a slippery customer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sousa blocks the strikes from Fin.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sousa defends well and Fin ends up having to push Sousa into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sousa is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Sousa tries to clinch up
and Fin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sousa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sousa tries to clinch up but Fin circles away and keeps his distance.

Fin clinches with his opponent.
Sousa with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Fin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sousa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Anistavio Sousa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Sousa shoots in looking for a takedown but Fin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sousa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sousa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sousa wants to counter the offense by Fin and move into the clinch position.
Sousa tries to clinch there but Fin circles away.

Fin lands a jab to the nose.

Fin clinches up with Sousa and pushes him back against the cage.
Fin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Fin prevents the takedown attempt.
Fin keeps control of Sousa as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Fin breaks from the clinch.
Fin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcos Fin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sousa shoots in for a takedown but Fin shows good takedown defense.

Fin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fin winds up and cracks Sousa with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Sousa is not content to let Fin control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Fin forces Sousa back against the cage and clinches.
Fin taking a breather.
Sousa is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Fin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sousa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fin to the mat! Fin manages to get full guard.
Anistavio Sousa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Marcos Fin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fin is pulling down on Sousa's head. It's preventing any offense from Sousa, at least for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marcos Fin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
