Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Humberto Travis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raul Gonzales! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Travis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gonzales defends well and Travis ends up having to push Gonzales into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Travis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Travis gets a double leg takedown into Gonzales's guard. Gonzales is looking for a triangle here but Travis uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzales tries to buck Travis off but Travis is having none of it. Travis is staying tight to Gonzales's torso, preventing him from escaping. Gonzales is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzales wants to control but Travis postures up. Gonzales isn't going anywhere. Gonzales can't do much from the bottom here. Travis working the ground and pound. Travis scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gonzales to see if he's OK. A control attempt from Gonzales but he's now mounted! Gonzales is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales is looking to get to half guard. Gonzales wants to hold on but Travis pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gonzales can't escape the position.

Gonzales is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Gonzales tries to reverse the position but Travis maintains control. Gonzales manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzales is staying active underneath Travis, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gonzales actively working from the bottom here. Gonzales looking for submissions off his back. Gonzales looks winded! Travis throwing shots but Gonzales is blocking nicely. Travis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gonzales looking for submissions off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Travis is trying to control. Gonzales wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Travis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Travis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gonzales gets caught flat footed, as Travis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Travis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Travis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Travis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gonzales keeps working. Travis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Gonzales scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Travis is looking for a sweep. Gonzales is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Travis is working hard here to advance position. Gonzales tries to stand and escape but Travis is controlling the position. Gonzales blocks the strikes from Travis.

Great BJJ skills there from Gonzales!
