Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trent Cotchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Whitecoat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whitecoat has chosen Seven Nation Army as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trent Cotchin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 31 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Whitecoat! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cotchin slips a jab from Whitecoat. Whitecoat takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Whitecoat tries to clinch up but Cotchin circles away and keeps his distance. The fighters circle momentarily. Cotchin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Cotchin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Whitecoat.
Whitecoat swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Cotchin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Whitecoat sprawls well. Whitecoat wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cotchin gets slowly back to his feet. Whitecoat looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cotchin throws an off balance right hand
and Whitecoat counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Trent Cotchin has been cut. Cotchin moves away from the strike by Whitecoat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cotchin lands a slapping body shot.
Cotchin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Whitecoat pinned against the cage. Whitecoat gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cotchin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A little jabbing left from Whitecoat on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Cotchin lands a jab. Whitecoat swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cotchin appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cotchin connects with a right hand. Whitecoat shakes it off. Trent Cotchin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cotchin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Whitecoat swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Whitecoat throws a good cross that connects.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cotchin. We've been informed that Whitecoat has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Whitecoat tries to clinch but Cotchin moves out of range. Nice takedown defense from Whitecoat. No joy for Cotchin on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Cotchin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cotchin scores with a hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cotchin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Whitecoat! Cotchin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cotchin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whitecoat can't do much from the bottom here. Whitecoat is looking for a sweep. Whitecoat throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cotchin lands a decent elbow from side control. Whitecoat wants to control but Cotchin postures up. Whitecoat is trying to improve his position. Cotchin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Cotchin has hold of Whitecoat's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Whitecoat tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cotchin cranks the arm and Whitecoat screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Whitecoat, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Trent Cotchin! After winning the bout, Trent Cotchin thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
