Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sam Leblanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leblanc shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson moves out of range as Leblanc throws a body kick.
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leblanc moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sloppy strikes from Jackson. Those never looked like landing.
Leblanc takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Leblanc fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jackson avoids it really well and circles away.
Leblanc shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.
It seemed like Jackson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Leblanc bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

Jackson pulls Leblanc in close to his closed guard and prevents Leblanc from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leblanc is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Leblanc prevents Jackson from getting back to his feet.

Leblanc drops his hands momentarily and Jackson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Leblanc bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Leblanc shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Leblanc tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Leblanc could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leblanc throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.
Jackson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Leblanc takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fred Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jackson feints a jab promting Leblanc to slip. Jackson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Leblanc slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jackson throws a combination. Leblanc tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Leblanc.

Jackson thuds his right hand into Leblanc's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
