Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Weid Chrisman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Long! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Weid Chrisman! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Long takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Long fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Long misses the shot to the body. Chrisman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chrisman lands in his opponent's guard. Long keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Chrisman with a flurry of punches that miss. Chrisman trying to control the position from guard on top but Long is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chrisman is working Long over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chrisman sitting in guard here, content to control. Chrisman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chrisman postures up in Long's guard and throws a big left but Long blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chrisman advances to half guard. Chrisman missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Chrisman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Long with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Chrisman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Long wants to improve his position but Chrisman is controlling well.
Chrisman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Long keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chrisman is figuring out what he wants to do next. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Long keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Long misses with a double jab.
Chrisman closes the distance and clinches. Chrisman tries to land a knee to the head but Long blocks with his arms.
Long gets underhooks to prevent Chrisman's takedown attempt.
Chrisman manages to break the clinch.
Chrisman clinches up against the cage. Long wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Chrisman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chrisman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Long's guard. Chrisman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chrisman postures up and lands a big shot to Long's brow. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Chrisman sitting in guard, not really doing much. Chrisman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chrisman throwing strikes but missing. Chrisman is stalling in the full guard. It looks like Chrisman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Long bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chrisman's guard. Chrisman is adopting a defensive guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chrisman can do anything to dispel that myth. Chrisman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Long throwing strikes but missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Weid Chrisman dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chrisman takes a body punch but keeps moving. Long gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Long wants to break the clinch but can't.

Long misses the body punch and Chrisman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Long won't be happy with that. Long is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chrisman connects with a decent elbow. Weid Chrisman has got the better of the ground game so far. Chrisman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Long rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Chrisman's guard! Nice work there by Long! Long wants to stand but Chrisman is controlling his posture from full guard. Chrisman is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Long has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Long throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chrisman works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Long throwing strikes from guard but Chrisman blocks nicely. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chrisman holds on and takes a little breather. Let's hope that Chrisman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Long pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chrisman is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Long loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Chrisman looking for a sweep. Not yet Chrisman, not yet. Long cracks Chrisman with a solid left hand. Chrisman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chrisman has his hands on Long's head, controlling the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Long looks to land a combination. Chrisman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Long takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Long gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Chrisman to score an easy takedown into full guard. Chrisman looking to pass the guard. Chrisman wants to control from the top but Long keeps moving. Chrisman landing some decent shots from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chrisman wants to control from the top but Long keeps moving. Chrisman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Chrisman wants to control from the top but Long keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chrisman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Long swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Chrisman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Weid Chrisman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Long's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
A looping hook to the body misses from Long. Chrisman does a little dance to reset his feet. Chrisman with the counter takedown but Long avoids it easily. Long moves into the clinch. Long on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Long tries to circle away but Chrisman has him pinned against the cage. Long tightens his grip and picks Chrisman up, before dumping him to the ground. Chrisman manages to land in guard. Chrisman is pulling down on Long's head. It's preventing any offense from Long, at least for the moment. More stalling from Chrisman. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Long wants to stand but Chrisman is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chrisman has momentary wrist control but Long slips an elbow through the middle. Chrisman pulls Long in close to prevent any damage. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Long throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chrisman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Long misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Long closes the distance and clinches up with Chrisman, looking for a takedown. Long pushes Chrisman against the cage but Chrisman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chrisman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Chrisman lands a two punch combo.
Chrisman shoots in and bounces Long off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Chrisman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Chrisman lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chrisman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Alex Long has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Long working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chrisman. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chrisman is pushing down on Long's leg trying to pass to half guard. Long is fighting to maintain full guard but Chrisman has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chrisman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Long defends it well. Long taking some punishment here, with Chrisman in his half guard. Weid Chrisman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Long is trying to maintain the position but Chrisman is very close to passing his half guard. Chrisman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Chrisman stops Long from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Long instigates a clinch. Chrisman turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Chrisman working the head with strikes. Chrisman controlling the position from side mount. Chrisman landing a few strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chrisman controls the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Weid Chrisman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Chrisman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
