Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Fayth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Kravinoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fayth comes into the arena with Awry Decade - Aisle of Denial blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Fayth! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Kravinoff! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fayth moves out of range of the body kick from Kravinoff.
Kravinoff fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Fayth checks it well. Fayth connects with the punch. Fayth fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kravinoff on the side of the head. Kravinoff has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Kravinoff misses with a body shot.
Fayth changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kravinoff connects with the punch. Fayth takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kravinoff looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Fayth doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kravinoff counters with a nice body shot. Fayth swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kravinoff. Fayth jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kravinoff uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fayth. Kravinoff only half commits to the counter leg kick. Fayth misses with a takedown and Kravinoff counters with a straight right hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kravinoff throws a hook to the side of Fayth's head but Fayth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kravinoff is looking to clinch but Fayth is avoiding it.
Fayth half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Fayth connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kravinoff. Kravinoff circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kravinoff turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Fayth darts in looking for a takedown but Kravinoff gets double underhooks and turns Fayth into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Fayth. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fayth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kravinoff avoids it really well and circles away. Kravinoff slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kravinoff connects with a solid leg kick. Kravinoff tries to work over Fayth's front leg with a kick but Fayth checks it. Kravinoff throws a leg kick but Fayth checks it. Kravinoff gets in close and instigates a clinch. Fayth drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fayth looking for a sweep. Not yet Fayth, not yet. Kravinoff chips away with some ground and pound. Kravinoff got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fayth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kravinoff has managed to get both his arms back between Fayth's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kravinoff trying to control the position from guard on top but Fayth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fayth has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kravinoff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fayth looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kravinoff has picked Fayth up and slammed him! Fayth can't keep hold of the triangle and Kravinoff manages to pass to side control! Kravinoff misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Kravinoff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fayth keeps working. Fayth struggling a bit here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fayth tries to bench press Kravinoff off him but Kravinoff keeps the position. Kravinoff thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kravinoff wants to control but Fayth is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fayth is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ninjin no Tamanegi, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Kravinoff wants to take a breather but Fayth manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kravinoff. Fayth escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kravinoff gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Fayth trying to control the position.
Fayth avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fayth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kravinoff's guard. Fayth postures up.
Fayth throws a big right hand that misses. Kravinoff has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Fayth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kravinoff swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sergei Kravinoff will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Kravinoff looks to land a body kick but Fayth moved away. Kravinoff slips a straight right by Fayth. Fayth swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kravinoff throws a solid leg kick but Fayth takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kravinoff. Fayth lands with a hook. Kravinoff tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Fayth tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kravinoff defends well and Fayth ends up having to push Kravinoff into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sergei Kravinoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kravinoff displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fayth throws out the jab. Fayth connects with an inside leg kick. Fayth looks to land a right hand but Kravinoff moved out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fayth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fayth drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Fayth misses with a hook. Kravinoff ducked under it nicely. Fayth moves away from the strike by Kravinoff. Kravinoff throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fayth checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Sergei Kravinoff seems to be getting the better of the standup. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fayth is defended easily by Kravinoff. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Fayth. That's going to take a lot out of him. A big left from Kravinoff misses. Fayth checks the leg kick. Fayth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kravinoff avoids it really well and circles away. Kravinoff works Fayth's body with a nice hook. Fayth blocks a low kick nicely. Fayth tries to counter with a takedown but Kravinoff is quick to defend against it. Kravinoff stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kravinoff wants it to stay on the feet. A swing and a miss from Fayth. Fayth circles away from the clinch attempt so Fayth counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Fayth postures up in Kravinoff's guard and throws a big left but Kravinoff blocks it. Fayth wants to control from the top but Kravinoff keeps moving. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kravinoff holds on and takes a little breather. Kravinoff trying to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Fayth trying to control but Kravinoff is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Sergei Kravinoff is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fayth checks a low kick from Kravinoff. Fayth throws an overhand right that lands on Kravinoff's shoulder, as Kravinoff tries to avoid the shot. Fayth jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kravinoff pivots, looking for a leg kick but Fayth is out of range and Kravinoff settles back down. Kravinoff scores with a jab to the body. Fayth lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kravinoff thumps Fayth with a low kick. Kravinoff misses with a kick to the body and Fayth decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kravinoff's guard. Fayth is pushing down on Kravinoff's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kravinoff is fighting to maintain full guard but Fayth has managed to sneak the leg through. Fayth thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kravinoff wants to get back to full guard. Fayth is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Kravinoff keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fayth prevents Kravinoff from improving his position. Kravinoff controlling the position for now. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Fayth shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kravinoff manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Fayth not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fayth wants to control from the top but Kravinoff keeps moving. Fayth is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kravinoff is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kravinoff keeping full guard, as Fayth tries to pass. Kravinoff is pulling down on Fayth's head. It's preventing any offense from Fayth, at least for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fayth with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nice defenses there by Fayth. Kravinoff moves away from the strike by Fayth. Kravinoff lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kravinoff jabs Fayth to the body, keeping him at a distance. Fayth's corner calls for a 1-2. Fayth obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kravinoff leaves Fayth with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fayth uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kravinoff.

Fayth wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kravinoff keeps working. You can see the frustration on Kravinoff's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Fayth wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kravinoff, who protects the arm well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kravinoff keeping his opponent close. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ray Fayth clearly takes that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Fayth throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kravinoff throws the kick towards the body but Fayth avoids it. Fayth uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kravinoff. Kravinoff is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fayth. The fighters circle momentarily. Kravinoff darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Ray Fayth has been cut. Fayth closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kravinoff is doing well to control the position and prevent Fayth from advancing to side control. Kravinoff won't allow Fayth to pass to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fayth stalling. Fayth passes the guard and advances to mount!

Fayth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kravinoff swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kravinoff controls Fayth momentarily but Fayth frees himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Fayth misses the jab. Kravinoff stuffs the takedown. Fayth throws a lazy right hand but Kravinoff sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Sergei Kravinoff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ray Fayth is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Kravinoff counters with a right hand to the body. Kravinoff scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Kravinoff cracks Fayth with an open hand slap. Fayth scores with a nice strike. Kravinoff misses with a leg kick and Fayth counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kravinoff! Kravinoff tries to improve position but can't. Kravinoff is not content to let Fayth control the position. Kravinoff is trying to control Fayth's posture but Fayth avoids it. Kravinoff is trying to escape the position but Fayth is controlling the position.

Kravinoff sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Fayth perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kravinoff is looking for a sweep. Fayth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kravinoff won't allow Fayth to pass to mount.

Fayth slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kravinoff is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Ray Fayth showed his dominance in that final round. I think Fayth has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
