Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guadeloupe Canal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Thatcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thatcher comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Seven Nation Army- The White Stripes kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Guadeloupe Canal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Thatcher! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Canal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Canal tries to clinch but Thatcher moves out of range. Canal displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thatcher throws out the jab. A big left from Thatcher misses. Canal shoots in and drives through. Thatcher sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thatcher scores with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Canal. No joy for Thatcher on that attempt. Thatcher throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Canal takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Canal has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Thatcher finds it's way round the side to connect with Canal's head. Thatcher swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A telegraphed right hand from Thatcher misses the target. Thatcher swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Canal. Thatcher looks to land a left hand but Canal moved out of range nicely. Nice sprawl there from Thatcher as Canal shoots in.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Thatcher avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Canal. Thatcher won't allow Canal to pass to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thatcher wants to get back to full guard but Canal has mounted him! Canal is working for a guillotine from mount but Thatcher frees his head quite easily.
Canal jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Thatcher is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Thatcher and Canal has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thatcher is trying to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Max Thatcher will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Thatcher connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. The fight stays on the outside here - Canal looks like he's thinking about clinching though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thatcher throws a series of punches but Canal moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canal tries to clinch there but Thatcher circles away.
Canal tries to land a front kick but Thatcher steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Thatcher throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Canal sees it coming and avoids it easily. Thatcher throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Thatcher throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Thatcher ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Canal moves away. Canal falls off balance throwing a combination
and Canal takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canal tries to clinch there but Thatcher circles away.
Canal walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Thatcher connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Canal's hands. Thatcher scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Thatcher throws a series of punches but Canal moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Canal avoids the body shot from Thatcher.
Canal tries to clinch but Thatcher moves out of range. Canal feints and as Thatcher raises his hands in defense, Canal changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thatcher keeping moving, preventing Canal from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Max Thatcher will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Canal misses with a double jab
and Thatcher counters with a left and a right that stings Canal. Canal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thatcher cracks Canal with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Thatcher!
That's one minute gone in the round. Thatcher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Canal fails with an attempt to clinch.
Thatcher stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Canal moves in looking to clinch but Thatcher pushes him off. Canal misses with a leg kick. Canal has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Canal there as he acknowledges the shot. Thatcher lands a head shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canal closes the distance but Thatcher moves to the side and Thatcher counters with a left to the body. Thatcher looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Thatcher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Canal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Canal keeping moving, preventing Thatcher from controlling successfully. Guadeloupe Canal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Canal seems keen to control Thatcher's posture.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Thatcher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Thatcher winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
