Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 26 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcello Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Pablo Blanco! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez with a poor takedown and Blanco counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Marcello Sanchez has been cut. Blanco lands with an uppercut that bounces Sanchez off the cage and back into range. Sanchez drives through with a takedown into Blanco's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sanchez postures up in Blanco's guard and throws a big left but Blanco blocks it. Sanchez being controlled here momentarily. Blanco avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Sanchez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Blanco looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Blanco looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Blanco! Blanco working away. Sanchez tries to buck Blanco off but Blanco is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blanco is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sanchez is trying to work for a sweep but Blanco has mounted him! Sanchez is looking to improve his position but Blanco isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Blanco can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sanchez is looking to escape. Sanchez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sanchez regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pablo Blanco dominated that round. The cut man is working on Marcello Sanchez's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - Blanco sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Blanco bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sanchez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sanchez shoots for a double leg takedown but Blanco sprawls well. He's pushed Sanchez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice uppercut lands for Blanco. That snapped Sanchez's head back.
Blanco swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Blanco counters with a left and a right that stings Sanchez. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcello Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Blanco.

and Blanco counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sanchez thinking. Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blanco throws an uppercut from hell that sends Sanchez clean off his feet! He's out cold! Blanco stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
