Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barrett Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biggie Shackleton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barrett Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Biggie Shackleton! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shackleton defends it nicely. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Johnson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Johnson shoots in but Shackleton avoids the takedown attempt easily. Shackleton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.
Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Shackleton. Shackleton maintains the clinch. Shackleton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Shackleton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shackleton fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Johnson checks it well. Johnson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Iron Palace in the buildup to the fight. Shackleton connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Shackleton fails with an attempt to clinch.
It looked like Johnson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Shackleton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Johnson is out of range and Shackleton settles back down. Barrett Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shackleton shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Nice cross by Shackleton. No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barrett Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shackleton throws a head kick that misses. Johnson throws a right hand that Shackleton ducks under and follows up with a left that Shackleton also avoids with ease. Shackleton tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Shackleton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Johnson looks to land a combination. Shackleton sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Sloppy strikes from Shackleton. Those never looked like landing. Johnson throws a series of strikes that have Shackleton backpedaling.
It looks like Biggie Shackleton has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shackleton misses with a low kick. Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson throws a left that rocks Shackleton and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Johnson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Shackleton regain composure!
Shackleton is rocked! Johnson lands a strong strike to the head of Shackleton. That's dazed him! Johnson looking to finish here. Shackleton is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Johnson lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barrett Johnson! An out of breath Barrett Johnson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
