The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

We've been informed that Lanes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Lanes is trying to pull guard but Miller has him pressed against the cage.

Lanes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Miller blocks it with crossed arms.

Miller would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lanes has his foot on Miller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miller works his way back into a safe position though.
Miller is looking to stand up but Lanes won't let him.

Miller gets to his feet. Lanes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Miller shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lanes eats them both and turns towards Miller to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Miller displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lanes throws out the jab.

Lanes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miller swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darius Miller dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Miller moves in looking to clinch but Lanes pushes him off.
Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lanes can do to turn this around?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lanes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miller defends it easily.

Miller wants to stand but Lanes is controlling his posture from full guard.

Lanes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Miller stacks Lanes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Miller!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lanes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miller off and has taken his back!

Lanes has got one arm under Miller's chin. This could be trouble... Miller trying to control the other hand but Lanes gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Miller has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tony Lanes!
Tony Lanes really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that V-Mask Clothing (10%) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
