Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Carter Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Bascon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bascon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. GODSMACK - Cryin' Like a Bitch kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Carter Williams ! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilson Bascon! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. As Bascon looks to move away, Williams throws a big counter combo bu Bascon just gets out of the way. Wilson Bascon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bascon swings widly with a right hand
enabling Williams to counter with a crisp jab. Williams misses with an uppercut. Bascon saw that one coming. Bascon misses with an uppercut
and Williams counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bascon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Williams . Bascon tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bascon jabbing away but nothing is landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donk. Williams catches Bascon right on the button with a cross. Bascon throws a lazy uppercut
and Bascon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bascon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Williams is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Williams bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bascon. Williams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bascon throws a jab but it's blocked by Williams . Williams slips under a jab. Bascon looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Bascon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily. A left lands for Williams . Williams misses with an uppercut. And Bascon tries to counter it with a takedown but Williams pushes his down on his head and steps out. Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Williams . No joy for Bascon on that attempt. Williams quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Williams smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Bascon is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Bascon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Williams finds it's way round the side to connect with Bascon's head. Bascon misses with a hook
and Williams counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Williams slips a jab and a cross from Bascon.
Williams with a body punch. A glancing blow. Bascon throws a low kick but Williams avoids it. Bascon has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Williams slips under a jab. Williams swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Bascon fails to land the takedown. Williams seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bascon takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bascon shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Williams circles away from the clinch attempt and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bascon shoots and misses and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Michael Carter Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilson Bascon. Bascon throws an off balance right hand
and Williams counters with a straight right hand. Williams sizes up Bascon with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Bascon tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bascon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bascon changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Bascon fails with a takedown attempt. Williams lands a big head kick that sends Bascon tumbling to the mat! Williams takes a step backwards and waves Bascon back to his feet - he wants the finish! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Carter Williams dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Williams cracks Bascon with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Williams has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bascon to stand back up! Bascon is still on wobbly legs! Can Williams finish him?

Bascon gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Williams gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Bascon is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Carter Williams ! Michael Carter Williams retains his middleweight title! An out of breath Michael Carter Williams thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. Wilson Bascon was interviewed post fight and said 'Good fight champ. I need execute my takedowns better. But, don't think this is the end of The Bison... Until we meet again.'.
