Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Vang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Negro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge Negro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Vang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorge Negro!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vang fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Negro, pushing him back against the cage.

Negro breaks from the clinch.
Vang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jorge Negro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Negro lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Joshua Vang has been cut.

Negro drives through and clinches with Vang against the cage.
Vang jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Negro walks away with a smile on his face. Vang gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Vang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Negro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vang has managed to get both his arms back between Negro's legs - danger averted.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vang wants to stand up but Negro is controlling him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Negro gets to his feet. Vang looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Negro stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Vang shoots for a double leg takedown but Negro sprawls well. He's pushed Vang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vang shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Negro as he avoids it easily.
Negro lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Negro successfully pulls guard.
Negro wants to control but Vang passes easily into half guard.
Negro is controlling Vang's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Negro wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Negro is trying to maintain the position but Vang is very close to passing his half guard.
Negro has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Negro kicks Vang off and gets back to his feet.

Vang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Negro misses the shot to the body.
Vang tries to counter by clinching up but Negro breaks away and moves out of range.

Vang gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Vang wants to sweep here but Negro controlling him for the moment.
Vang is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Negro dives into side control.

Vang is trying to control Negro's posture but Negro avoids it.
Negro connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vang some visible discomfort.

Vang is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Negro taking a breather here.

Negro wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vang, who protects the arm well.
Negro is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Negro wants to control but Vang is keeping him busy.
What's Vang going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vang wants to control but Negro postures up.

Negro decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Negro thuds his shin into the meat of Vang's side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vang shoots for a double leg takedown but Negro sprawls well. He's pushed Vang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Negro steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Vang.

Negro gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Vang regains guard.
Negro working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vang's head.

Vang is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Negro stands up from Vang's guard - Negro perhaps looking for a knockout.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Negro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vang shoots in and drives through. Negro sprawls well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice takedown defense from Negro. No joy for Vang on that attempt.
Negro looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Negro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Negro lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Negro.

Negro changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vang looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.


Vang is rocked!

Negro has hold of Vang's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Vang seems comfortable defending it but Negro has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Vang is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Vang is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Negro couldn't care less - he's delighted!
