Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ferdinand Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro Miguelito!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miguelito shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miguelito showed some decent athleticism there.
Alvarez tries to kick Miguelito off but Miguelito keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Miguelito trying to mount his opponent but Alvarez defends it.
Miguelito really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Alvarez wants to get back to full guard.
Alvarez pushes Miguelito off looking to stand but Miguelito dives back in and keeps control.

Alvarez manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Miguelito keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Miguelito manages to pull guard.
Miguelito is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Miguelito has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Alvarez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Miguelito.
Alvarez wants to control but Miguelito is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alvarez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alvarez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Alvarez tries for a kimura but Miguelito is defending well.

Alvarez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Miguelito connects with the punch.
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but Miguelito shows good takedown defense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alvarez there as he acknowledges the shot.

Miguelito closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Miguelito is working for takedown but Alvarez is calmly controlling the position for now.
Miguelito just leaning against Alvarez, taking a breather.

Alvarez manages to pull guard.

Alvarez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Miguelito has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Alvarez to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Miguelito is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Alvarez pulls down on the head and he's put Miguelito to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ferdinand Alvarez!
