Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Louis Sobiesky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niilo Hamalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamalainen has chosen Face the Pain as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Louis Sobiesky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Niilo Hamalainen! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamalainen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sobiesky but Sobiesky pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hamalainen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hamalainen scores with punches from side control. The ground and pound from Hamalainen seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Hamalainen working the body and head with strikes. Sobiesky can't do much from the bottom here. Hamalainen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sobiesky's shoulder. That is not cool. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hamalainen landing strikes. Sobiesky dodges the ground and pound from Hamalainen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobiesky managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hamalainen.
Hamalainen landing a few strikes. Hamalainen is looking to take a break and control but Sobiesky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hamalainen cracks Sobiesky with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hamalainen tries to advance to mount but can't. Sobiesky defending against the ground and pound. Hamalainen scoring with punches from side control. Hamalainen looks up at the clock and then as Sobiesky takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hamalainen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobiesky can't do much from the bottom here. Hamalainen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sobiesky sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sobiesky is breathing heavily. Sobiesky is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hamalainen connects with a decent elbow. Sobiesky being controlled for a moment. Hamalainen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sobiesky is avoiding damage well.
Sloppy strikes there by Hamalainen. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hamalainen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hamalainen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hamalainen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hamalainen is trying to control. Sobiesky wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hamalainen tries to pass to full mount but Sobiesky defends it. Hamalainen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobiesky blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hamalainen. Hamalainen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hamalainen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sobiesky's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hamalainen fails with a takedown attempt. Sobiesky changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hamalainen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sobiesky avoids it really well and circles away. Louis Sobiesky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niilo Hamalainen. Hamalainen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hamalainen controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hamalainen shoots for a takedown but Sobiesky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sobiesky tries to counter with a takedown but Hamalainen is quick to defend against it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hamalainen. Hamalainen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hamalainen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sobiesky keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hamalainen working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hamalainen lands a nice forearm strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamalainen cracks Sobiesky with a big elbow. Sobiesky is looking for a sweep. Hamalainen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Niilo Hamalainen has got the better of the ground game so far. Hamalainen wants to control for a moment but Sobiesky uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Sobiesky is staying active underneath Hamalainen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sobiesky is looking to improve his position.
Hamalainen drops an elbow to the side of Sobiesky's head. Hamalainen wants to take a breather but Sobiesky is having none of it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hamalainen not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hamalainen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sobiesky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hamalainen somewhat. Sobiesky tries to counter with a takedown but Hamalainen is quick to defend against it. Hamalainen closes the distance and clinches up with Sobiesky, looking for a takedown. Hamalainen pushes Sobiesky against the cage but Sobiesky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Louis Sobiesky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niilo Hamalainen.

Sobiesky scores with a nice strike. Sobiesky tries to sprawl but Hamalainen drives through with a takedown into half guard. Hamalainen with the ground and pound but Sobiesky uses the opportunity to regain guard. Hamalainen postures up in Sobiesky's guard and throws a big left but Sobiesky blocks it. Hamalainen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sobiesky swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hamalainen trying to control but Sobiesky is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A slow jab from Sobiesky misses its intended target. Hamalainen fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sobiesky rushes Hamalainen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Hamalainen tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hamalainen tries for a takedown but Sobiesky manages to get underhooks.

Hamalainen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hamalainen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sobiesky trying to control the position but instead, Hamalainen has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sobiesky into the cage.

A short uppercut from Sobiesky. Hamalainen stalls. Hamalainen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sobiesky is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hamalainen blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hamalainen is trying to drag Sobiesky to the mat but Sobiesky just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hamalainen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sobiesky fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobiesky forces Hamalainen back against the cage and clinches. Hamalainen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sobiesky is defending well. Hamalainen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sobiesky gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Sobiesky lands a right hand. A short uppercut from Sobiesky. Sobiesky gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hamalainen.

Hamalainen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sobiesky down to the mat. Sobiesky avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sobiesky stuffs the takedown attempt from Hamalainen. Hamalainen gets slowly back to his feet.

Nice cross by Sobiesky. Hamalainen dives in for a single leg takedown but Sobiesky sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Sobiesky attempts a counter takedown but Hamalainen avoids it well and moves away. Hamalainen tries for a takedown but Sobiesky circles away easily and Sobiesky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sobiesky postures up in Hamalainen's guard and throws a big left but Hamalainen blocks it. Sobiesky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hamalainen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hamalainen is looking to stand up but Sobiesky isn't so interested in that idea. Sobiesky postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hamalainen has control of Sobiesky's left arm, preventing Sobiesky from doing any damage. Sobiesky pushing down on Hamalainen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Hamalainen tries to get to full guard but Sobiesky has control of the leg. Sobiesky with the ground and pound but Hamalainen uses the opportunity to regain guard. Sobiesky is looking to work some ground and pound but Hamalainen has wrist control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hamalainen is looking to stand up but Sobiesky isn't so interested in that idea.
