Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Helio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Shark told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Shark!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shark misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shark ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt
and Shark counters with a straight right hand.
Gracie closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gracie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Shark is defending well.
Shark can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie misses with the ground and pound.
Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Shark managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Gracie.
Gracie is chipping away with strikes.
Gracie in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Shark is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Helio Gracie!
Helio Gracie made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I think he is weak man small weak and defeated. Next time I beat him to death.'.
