The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chese drives through and clinches with Bicholson against the cage.
Chese should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. A right handed body shot lands from Chese.
The is referee keeping an eye on Chese - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Chese is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bicholson can't fight it off and eventually Chese manages to take the fight to the floor. Bicholson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Chese is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Bicholson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bicholson is on top in guard.
Bicholson advances position into side control! Chese is not content to let Bicholson control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chese can do anything to dispel that myth. Bicholson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bicholson has hold of Chese's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Chese tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bicholson cranks the arm and Chese screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Chese, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jason Bicholson!
