The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kavacavich scores with a takedown into Wirtanen's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kavacavich seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kavacavich stops Wirtanen from standing up.

Kavacavich decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wirtanen, up you get!
Kavacavich shoots in but Wirtanen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kavacavich throws a lazy body kick
and Wirtanen counters with a nice uppercut.
Kavacavich misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wirtanen scores with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wirtanen lands a head shot.
Kavacavich shoots in for a takedown but Wirtanen shows good takedown defense.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wirtanen! But no joy.
Wirtanen throws a shot to the body.

Kavacavich drives through and clinches with Wirtanen against the cage.
Kavacavich keeps control of Wirtanen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Wirtanen looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Kavacavich breaks the clinch.
Kavacavich walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kavacavich walks into a straight right hand from Wirtanen.
The crowd cheers as Wirtanen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kavacavich doesn't seem phased though.
Kavacavich takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wirtanen throws a combination. Kavacavich tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kavacavich rushes Wirtanen and presses him up against the cage.

Kavacavich has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wirtanen uses from the top position.
Wirtanen wanted to stand there but Kavacavich had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kavacavich pushes a forearm under Wirtanen's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Wirtanen is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
