Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Petzel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Thomas told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Petzel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Thomas! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas takes a kick to the side of the head. Petzel keeps the fight on the outside. Petzel gets the takedown into side control. Petzel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Petzel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Thomas is trying to control Petzel's posture but Petzel avoids it. Petzel stands up and beckons Thomas to his feet. Thomas gets caught flat footed, as Petzel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Thomas trying to keep a closed guard but Petzel is proving a slippery customer.
Petzel drops back looking for a leg! Thomas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Thomas manages to kick Petzel off! Petzel jumps back into Thomas's guard. Thomas keeping full guard, as Petzel tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Petzel stands up from guard. Let's bang! Thomas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Petzel counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Thomas thinking. A head kick by Thomas misses and Petzel counters with a nice body shot. Thomas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Petzel counters with a nice body kick.
Thomas looks gassed! Petzel digs a good hook to Thomas's body.
Jake Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petzel scores with a decent looking hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Petzel. Petzel rushes Thomas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Petzel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Petzel gets a takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Petzel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Thomas! Petzel scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Thomas?
Petzel get's back to his feet. Petzel circles away from the clinch attempt and Petzel counters with a nice body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petzel throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Petzel instigates a clinch. Petzel landing knees to the body.
Petzel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Petzel scores with a jab to the jaw. Petzel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Petzel in particular looking to stall. Petzel escapes and gets back to his feet. Nice cross by Petzel. A left lands for Petzel.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Petzel lands with a hook. Thomas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Petzel clinches with his opponent.
Petzel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Petzel cracks Thomas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A thudding body kick lands there by Petzel!
Petzel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Thomas! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Petzel breaks from Thomas's wrist control and lands an elbow. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Petzel quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Petzel but it's paid off an Thomas is forced to tap! Nice work by Petzel.
