Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Villarreal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Finisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodney Villarreal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Finisher! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finisher displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Villarreal. A looping hook to the body misses from Villarreal. Finisher does a little dance to reset his feet. Villarreal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Finisher tries to avoid it but Villarreal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Finisher to the ground. Finisher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Finisher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Villarreal was covering up waiting for the punch and Finisher finishes the takedown easily into guard. Finisher sitting in guard, not really doing much. Finisher gets to his feet. Villarreal looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick misses from Finisher. Finisher goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Villarreal dives in and grabs Finisher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Finisher pushes down on Villarreal's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodney Villarreal. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Villarreal. Villarreal could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Villarreal gets caught napping as Finisher dives in and scores a takedown. Villarreal manages to retain guard. Villarreal is working an open guard so Finisher takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Finisher throws a leg kick so Villarreal counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Villarreal trying to stand up but can't free himself from Finisher's guard. Finisher kicks Villarreal off and gets to his feet. Finisher closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Villarreal quickly recovers to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Finisher tries to pass the half guard into mount. Villarreal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Finisher in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villarreal wants to get back to his feet. Finisher controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Villarreal looks like he's trying to stand up.
Villarreal is looking to control Finisher's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Villarreal avoid being mounted? Finisher stands up and beckons Villarreal to join him on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villarreal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Frank Finisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Finisher has managed to clinch.
Finisher is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Finisher successfully pulls guard.
Villarreal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Finisher has a closed guard, preventing Villarreal from standing up. Finisher tries to land a sweep but no joy. Villarreal trying to stand up but can't free himself from Finisher's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Villarreal stopping the sweep attempt from Finisher.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Finisher gets a double leg takedown into Villarreal's guard. Finisher looks winded! Villarreal is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Villarreal has his feet on Finisher's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Finisher moves into the clinch. Villarreal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Finisher walks away with a smile on his face. Villarreal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Finisher dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Villarreal closes the distance and clinches up with Finisher, looking for a takedown. Villarreal pushes Finisher against the cage but Finisher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Finisher lands a nice shot to the body.
Villarreal fails with the takedown. Villarreal dives in and grabs Finisher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Finisher pushes down on Villarreal's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodney Villarreal. That's going to take a lot out of him. Villarreal blocks a head kick by Finisher.
Villarreal changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Rodney Villarreal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Finisher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Finisher seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Finisher's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villarreal wants to get back to his feet. Villarreal trying to hold on to Finisher's head to control him but Finisher postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Villarreal shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Finisher's guard. Finisher seems keen to control Villarreal's posture. Finisher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Villarreal's guard.
Finisher stands up from guard. Let's bang! Finisher tries to clinch up but Villarreal circles away and keeps his distance. Villarreal shoots in for a double leg but Finisher sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Finisher clinches with his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finisher is trying to force a seperation but Villarreal has the dominant position. Finisher breaks from the clinch.
Villarreal dives in and grabs Finisher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Finisher pushes down on Villarreal's head and hops out. Nice uppercut lands for Finisher. That snapped Villarreal's head back.
Finisher pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Villarreal back to the cage. Finisher follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Villarreal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Finisher as he jumps to the side. Finisher rushes Villarreal and presses him up against the cage. Finisher has Villarreal pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Finisher pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Villarreal tumbling to the mat - Finisher dives into Villarreal's guard. Finisher stands and steps away. Villarreal gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Finisher closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Villarreal to the mat! Villarreal manages to get full guard. Finisher trying to control but Villarreal is working from the bottom. Finisher decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Villarreal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Finisher pinned against the cage. Finisher gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Finisher appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. A jab from Finisher does it's job there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Finisher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Rodney Villarreal's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Finisher scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Finisher working the ground and pound but Villarreal is defending the strikes. Villarreal is pushing Finisher's head away, looking to escape. Finisher manages to hold on to the position though. Villarreal is not content to let Finisher control the position. Villarreal gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villarreal is looking to get back to is feet but Finisher passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Finisher throws a head kick that misses. Villarreal half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Finisher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Finisher darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Finisher decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Villarreal throws a sloppy head kick and Finisher moves out of range easily. Finisher throws a nice looking combination but Villarreal bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Finisher has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Villarreal gets the takedown into side control. Villarreal thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Finisher is trying to control Villarreal's posture but Villarreal avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villarreal is trying to get an arm triangle but Finisher is defending well. Villarreal tries to stand but Finisher is controlling his head. Finisher throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villarreal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Finisher as he jumps to the side. A left and a right from Finisher both land. Nice combination. Villarreal shoots in but no luck this time. Finisher swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Finisher closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Villarreal's guard. Villarreal wants to stand and escape but Finisher is having none of it. Finisher gets to his feet. Villarreal looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Villarreal needs to keep his hands up - Finisher had a free shot at his head there. Finisher feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finisher controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Villarreal trying to keep a closed guard but Finisher is proving a slippery customer.
Finisher slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Finisher throws a big elbow that misses. Finisher sitting in guard, not really doing much. Finisher trying to control the position from guard on top but Villarreal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Finisher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Finisher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
