Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Beales! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson pushes Beales up against the cage in a clinch. Beales tries to pull guard but Jackson won't allow it.
Beales looking for a takedown. Jackson is trying to force a seperation but Beales has the dominant position. Beales wants a takedown but no success here.
Jack Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Beales. Beales lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Jackson pushes Beales off but Beales dives into side control.
Jackson parries the strikes from Beales easily there. Beales is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jackson to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beales trying to control the position but Jackson is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is looking to reverse the position. Beales sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Jackson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Jackson is looking to regain half guard here but Beales keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jackson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Beales trying to control the pace. Jackson gets full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Beales is fighting to break Jackson's control of his arms but Jackson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Jackson wants to sweep here but Beales controlling him for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson showed some decent athleticism there. Jackson trying to control the action but Beales is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Beales doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jackson is thwarting Beales's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson trying to control from half guard but Beales is working away. Beales has his hands clasped together around Jackson's back. He's all about the action. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Jackson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jackson darts in and clinches Beales up against the cage. Beales changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jackson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Beales's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beales has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jackson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Beales. Jackson tries to move to mount but Beales blocks the move with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beales keeps working. Jackson throwing strikes but Beales manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Jackson stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Beales trying to control the position but Jackson is working away. Jackson struggling a bit here. Jackson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beales wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beales wants to take a breather but Jackson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Beales. Beales in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Beales won't allow Jackson to sweep him here. Beales trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beales gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beales trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jack Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beales stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Beales stops Jackson from standing up. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jackson controls Beales momentarily but Beales frees himself.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Beales takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Jackson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Beales uses from the top position. Jackson keeping full guard, as Beales tries to pass. Beales slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Jackson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Jackson dominated that second round. That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Jackson throws a hook to the side of Beales's head but Beales sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jackson instigates a clinch. Beales has Jackson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jackson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Beales has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jackson is trying to keep an underhook but Beales manages to get the takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Jackson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Jackson is controlling Beales's posture. Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beales stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position. Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Beales is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jackson shoots in and bounces Beales off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Beales is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Beales wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jackson is now in half guard.

Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Beales is holding on to half guard well. Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beales does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jackson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Beales being controlled here momentarily. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. Beales throwing strikes but missing. Jackson working a defensive guard but Beales passes into half guard.
Beales is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Beales with the ground and pound but Jackson uses the opportunity to regain guard. Beales with a flurry of punches that miss. Beales prevents Jackson from getting back to his feet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Beales postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Beales gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch. Jackson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Jackson is trying to control. Beales wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Beales wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy and won't allow it. John Beales has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jack Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jackson is taking a breather. Beales says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
