Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Lundgren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Rawlings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Lundgren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dave Rawlings! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rawlings closes the distance and clinches. Lundgren looking for a takedown. Lundgren takes an elbow to the temple. Rawlings lands a left hand.
Rawlings breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rawlings displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lundgren. Rawlings gets a clinch. Lundgren digs a right hand into Rawlings's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rawlings's gas tank. Rawlings is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Lundgren tries for a takedown but Rawlings manages to get underhooks.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Rawlings's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lundgren defends it easily. Lundgren trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lundgren has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lundgren throws an elbow that misses. Rawlings uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lundgren's guard. Nice move by Rawlings! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lundgren holds on and takes a little breather. Rawlings throws a big elbow that misses.

Rawlings trying to control the position from guard on top but Lundgren is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lundgren has a closed guard, preventing Rawlings from standing up. Rawlings slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rawlings wants to get up but he can't break Lundgren's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A combination from Lundgren does no damage. A solid leg kick lands there for Rawlings.
Rawlings fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lundgren, pushing him back against the cage. Lundgren has a couple of punches blocked by Rawlings.
Lundgren tries to pull guard but Rawlings forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Rawlings escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rawlings jabs Lundgren to the body, keeping him at a distance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rawlings has Lundgren up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Rawlings.

Rawlings lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lundgren backwards. Lundgren gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rawlings looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lundgren is fending him off so far but Rawlings persists. Nope, Lundgren circles away and we're back to standing. Rawlings cracks Lundgren with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rawlings slaps away a takedown attempt from Lundgren, before circling back to the center of the mat. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rawlings has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Rawlings showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Dave Rawlings is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Rawlings clinches up with Lundgren and pushes him back against the cage. Rawlings gets through Lundgren's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Rawlings is defending well against a takedown attempt. Rawlings pulls guard successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rawlings avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lundgren is fighting to break Rawlings's control of his arms but Rawlings is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Lundgren trying to control but Rawlings is working from the bottom. Rawlings is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Joe Lundgren has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rawlings takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Rawlings comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rawlings has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
