Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnnie Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Fann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnnie Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kenneth Fann!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnem�ki, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hill looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fann thinks about the counter body kick.
Fann takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fann fails with the takedown.
Some bone on bone action there as Hill checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hill wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hill throws a sloppy head kick and Fann moves out of range easily.
Fann tries to clinch there but Hill circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fann looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hill is fending him off so far but Fann persists. Nope, Hill circles away and we're back to standing.
Fann shoots in for a takedown but Hill shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnnie Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenneth Fann.
Fann looks to score with a jab to the body but Hill is just out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hill or perhaps it was just good defense by Fann, which made it look bad.

Hill with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fann to score with a decent uppercut.
Hill shoots for a takedown but Fann saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fann tries a head kick but it misses.
Hill scores with the left hand. Fann knows he should have avoided that one.
Hill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hill swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Fann counters with a left and a right that stings Hill.
Hill moves in looking to clinch but Fann pushes him off.
Hill throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fann counters with a one-two to the body.
Fann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hill.
Fann is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Hill lands with a slapping head kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hill keeps the fight on the outside.
Fann tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hill sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fann somewhat.
Fann looks winded!
Fann tries a head kick but it misses.
Fann misses with a head kick.
Fann tries to close the distance and clinch but Hill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fann misses with a head kick.
Hill fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hill closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hill sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Fann is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Fann tries to bench press Hill off him but Hill keeps the position.
Fann looks to move to half guard but instead Hill has passed into mount! Damn!
Fann manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Hill is working for a submission of some sort.

Fann tries to get to full guard but Hill has control of the leg.
Fann is trying to stand back up but Hill is controlling him
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fann is trying to control but Hill manages to pass to mount!

And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Johnnie Hill will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fann shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Fann goes for a double leg but Hill avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hill continues to drive forward.
Hill tries to counter by clinching up but Fann breaks away and moves out of range.
Hill stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hill wants it to stay on the feet.
As Fann tries to get set, Hill tries to push him back and clinch up but Fann manages to avoid the attempt.
Hill tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fann was well out of range. Poor timing from Hill.
Hill tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Fann's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Fann gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Hill breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fann misses with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hill scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Hill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fann, who protects the arm well.
Fann is breathing heavily.
Hill working away.

Hill is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fann has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fann is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hill is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hill takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hill dominating with strikes here.
Fann tries to lock up and control but Hill gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hill putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Fann wants to hold on but Hill pushes him away.
Hill is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hill content just to control the position here.

Fann tries to hold on but Hill pushes him away.
Hill can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fann is looking to escape.
Hill mounts Fann! Really nice guard pass there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hill raining down hammerfists from mount.
You get the feeling that Fann really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hill looking to take Fann's back but Fann rolls and after a scramble, Fann ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Fann to escape a tricky position.

And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnnie Hill dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Fann moves into the clinch successfully.
Fann lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Johnnie Hill has been cut.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Hill as Fann tries to tie him up.
Hill gets underhooks to prevent Fann's takedown attempt.
Fann is leaning against Hill and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Hill is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Fann to keep the fight standing.

Fann takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fann tries to buck Hill off but Hill is having none of it.
Hill is looking to take a break and control but Fann is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fann struggling a bit here.
Hill moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Fann's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hill shoots in looking for a takedown. Fann tries to sprawl out of it but Hill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fann manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kenneth Fann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fann gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hill moves into the clinch.
Johnnie Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenneth Fann.

Fann breaks from the clinch.
No luck for Hill with that takedown attempt.
Fann misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fann can do to turn this around?

Hill drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hill drops back looking for a leg! Fann is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fann manages to kick Hill off! Hill jumps back into Fann's guard.
Fann looking for a sweep. Not yet Fann, not yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fann is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kenneth Fann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnnie Hill is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hill trying to control but Fann is working from the bottom.

Johnnie Hill showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
