Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raymond Stokes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Werdum! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Werdum dives in and grabs Stokes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stokes pushes down on Werdum's head and hops out. Werdum gets a clinch. Stokes is stalling here.
Werdum has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Stokes is trying to keep an underhook but Werdum manages to get the takedown into half guard. Werdum looks winded! Stokes tries to roll over but Werdum keeps him under control. Stokes throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stokes is looking to improve his position.

Stokes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Stokes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Stokes seems to be working for a kimura but Werdum defends the submission attempt. Stokes misses with a head shot. Werdum uses the momentum to regain guard. Werdum tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stokes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Werdum on the ground. Werdum working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stokes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Werdum utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Werdum is working an open guard so Stokes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Fabricio Werdum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Werdum shoots in but no luck this time. Stokes gets a clinch. Stokes manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Werdum is trying to break free. Stokes throws a head punch that misses. Stokes displaying some good clinch control by pressing Werdum up against the cage. Stokes lands a left hand.
Come on Stokes - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The referee calls for Stokes to work.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Stokes for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Raymond Stokes. Horrible takedown attempt by Werdum or perhaps it was just good defense by Stokes, which made it look bad. Raymond Stokes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Werdum.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Werdum closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Stokes stalling the fight.

Stokes will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Werdum up against the cage. Stokes prevents Werdum from breaking the clinch. Stokes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Werdum has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Stokes holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Stokes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Werdum's half guard. Ground and pound from Stokes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stokes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Werdum defends it well. Stokes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Werdum sees it coming and defends easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Werdum blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stokes. Stokes decides to return to a standing position. Werdum is breathing heavily. Stokes drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stokes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Werdum works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stokes's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Werdum wants to sweep here but Stokes controlling him for the moment. Werdum has a closed guard, preventing Stokes from standing up. Stokes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Werdum has momentary wrist control but Stokes slips an elbow through the middle. Stokes is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Werdum has his hands on Stokes's head, controlling the position. Raymond Stokes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Stokes with a flurry of punches that miss. Werdum is trying to keep Stokes in close.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Stokes stands up from guard. Let's bang! Werdum looks for a takedown but Stokes sprawls well. Stokes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stokes is nestled in close to Werdum, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Stokes is trying to work for a kimura but Werdum is defending well.
Werdum landing a few short strikes. Werdum on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Stokes tries to stand but can't do so whilst Werdum controls his leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Werdum blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stokes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Werdum manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Stokes keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Stokes stalling the fight.
Werdum lands a nice knee to the body. Werdum goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stokes prevents it.

Raymond Stokes dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Stokes shoots in looking for a takedown. Werdum tries to sprawl out of it but Stokes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Werdum manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Werdum closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stokes taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Werdum jumps guard but Stokes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Werdum takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Stokes.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Raymond Stokes. Werdum goes for a double leg but Stokes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stokes continues to drive forward. As Werdum looks to move away, Stokes throws a big counter combo bu Werdum just gets out of the way. Stokes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Werdum is trying to defend but Stokes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Stokes seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stokes connects with a nice short shot to Werdum's temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stokes missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stokes decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Stokes clinches up against the cage. Stokes has Werdum pressed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Stokes takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Stokes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Werdum smiles and moves away.
Werdum closes the distance and clinches up with Stokes, looking for a takedown. Werdum pushes Stokes against the cage but Stokes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stokes tries to counter by clinching up but Werdum breaks away and moves out of range. Raymond Stokes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Werdum. Stokes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stokes looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Werdum is avoiding damage well.
Stokes decides to stand back up. Stokes steps back and let's Werdum get back to his feet. Werdum throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stokes's waist but Stokes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Werdum off to one side. Stokes leaves Werdum with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Werdum shoots in for a double leg but Stokes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A combination from Stokes does no damage. Stokes sets himself, and Werdum steps forward looking for the clinch! Stokes avoids it this time. Nice sprawl there from Stokes as Werdum shoots in.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Werdum fails with a takedown attempt. Stokes stuffs the takedown attempt from Werdum. Werdum gets slowly back to his feet. Stokes closes the distance and clinches. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stokes jumps guard.
Fabricio Werdum has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Raymond Stokes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Werdum keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stokes's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Raymond Stokes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Stokes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
