Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chet Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Red! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Red. Red misses with a takedown and Savage counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Red is trying to drag Savage to the mat but Savage just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Chet Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Red. Savage is trying to force a seperation but Red has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savage is trying to break free. Red wants a takedown but no success here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage is looking to break free of the clinch but Red has double underhooks. Savage jumps guard.
Savage wants to sweep here but Red controlling him for the moment. Red trying to control but Savage is working from the bottom. Red might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Savage haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Red passes into half guard. Red stops Savage from getting back to his feet.
Savage is looking to improve his position.

Savage is looking for a sweep. Red is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Red looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Red is looking to take a break and control but Savage is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Savage regains full guard. Nicely done. Red drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Red jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Savage really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Red wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savage trying to keep a closed guard but Red is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Red thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Red postures up.
Savage manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Red manages to get himself to full guard.
Red has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Savage is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Red. Red tries to bench press Savage off him but Savage keeps the position. A lull in the action here as Savage stalls from top position. Red wants to control but Savage postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savage laying and praying for a moment but Red takes advantage and regains half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Red manages to regain full guard. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chet Savage dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Red bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Savage is trying to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Savage's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Red is trying to get an arm triangle but Savage is defending well. Red tries for a kimura but Savage is defending well. Red is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Savage is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Red is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Red hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
