1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joseph Edgar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Washington! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Washington misses with a hook. Edgar ducked under it nicely. Edgar's jab looks to have found its range, popping Washington under the eye. Washington avoids a punch combination nicely.
Edgar throws a body punch but Washington moves out of range. Washington looks like he wants to counter punch here. Edgar throws a big shot that misses. Washington steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Edgar. We've been hearing reports that Edgar has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Washington goes for a double leg but Edgar avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Edgar continues to drive forward. Washington slips a jab and a cross from Edgar.

Edgar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Washington did well to prevent Edgar getting side control. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Washington for as long as he can get away with. Edgar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Edgar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Edgar wants to sweep here but Washington controlling him for the moment. Washington throwing strikes from guard but Edgar blocks nicely. Washington is fighting to break Edgar's control of his arms but Edgar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Edgar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Edgar keeping moving, preventing Washington from controlling successfully. Edgar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Edgar tries to get out of the position. Edgar has Washington pulled in close to control his posture. Washington is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A slow jab from Edgar misses its intended target. It seemed like Washington was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Washington throws a jab but it's blocked by Edgar. Washington avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Washington steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Edgar. Nice uppercut lands for Edgar. That snapped Washington's head back.

Washington wants to counter the offense by Edgar and move into the clinch position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Washington ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Washington swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Washington lands a jab to the nose. Edgar throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Washington uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Edgar.

Joseph Edgar dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Edgar missing with a left hand there. Washington was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Washington shoots for a takedown but Edgar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Is there anything that Washington can do to turn this around? Edgar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Washington looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Washington is breathing heavily. The referee asks Edgar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Edgar prefers to stall for the moment though. Edgar working the ground and pound from side control. Washington is not content to let Edgar control the position. Edgar has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Washington! Edgar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Edgar unloading with bombs!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edgar is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Washington can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Edgar putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Edgar breaks from Washington's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Washington is rocked! Edgar lands a big shot there that rocks Washington but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Washington is still in real trouble! Can Edgar finish him? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A big strike lands for Edgar! That's really hurt Washington and he's turned his back - Edgar keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Edgar jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
