Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Solo Fann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Alstadt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Solo Fann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aaron Alstadt!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alstadt misses with a combination
and Fann connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Alstadt avoids the head kick by Fann.

Fann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alstadt sprawls well initially but Fann persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Alstadt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fann pulls his head out easily.
Alstadt trying to control but Fann postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fann is taking a breather. Alstadt says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fann is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alstadt defends it well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Alstadt tries to get to full guard but Fann has control of the leg.
Fann prevents Alstadt from standing back up.
Fann trying to pass the guard but Alstadt defending well.
Alstadt is trying to get back to full guard.
Alstadt is trying to stand up here but Fann is controlling him well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fann moves into the clinch.
Fann avoiding damage as Alstadt throws knees to the body.
Alstadt misses with a punch to the body.
Fann wants a takedown.

Fann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fann moves into the clinch.
Fann has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Alstadt avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Alstadt tries to land a knee to the head but Fann blocks with his arms.
Fann content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Alstadt missing with knees to the body.
Fann is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Fann blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Fann dodges an elbow strike from Alstadt.
Fann is trying to stall.
Fann wants to take the fight to the mat but Alstadt manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Solo Fann. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fann tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alstadt smiles and moves away.
Alstadt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fann.
Alstadt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fann circles away.
Fann is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Alstadt.
Fann throws a wild body kick that Alstadt sees coming a mile off.

Alstadt shoots in and gets a takedown into Fann's guard.
Fann looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alstadt is one step ahead there.
Fann tries to strike from the bottom.
Alstadt looking to pass the guard.

Fann is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fann wants to get back to his feet but Alstadt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Alstadt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fann has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alstadt has managed to get both his arms back between Fann's legs - danger averted.

Fann wants to sweep but no luck.
Fann trying to keep a closed guard but Alstadt is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fann avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Solo Fann dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Alstadt throws a series of punches but Fann avoids them all with ease.
Fann scores with a crisp jab that stopped Alstadt in his tracks.
Fann swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alstadt is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Fann uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alstadt.
Nice takedown defense from Alstadt. No joy for Fann on that attempt.
Alstadt has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fann loads up on a big right hand but Alstadt slips the punch.
Alstadt doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Solo Fann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fann not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fann has his foot on Alstadt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alstadt works his way back into a safe position though.
Alstadt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Alstadt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Alstadt with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Alstadt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alstadt throws a big elbow that misses.

Alstadt stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Fann throws up his legs and catches Alstadt in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Alstadt tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Fann! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Solo Fann!
