Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jim Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Modack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Modack has chosen Duran Duran -Wild Boys as his entrance music. Jim Murphy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terry Modack! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Modack moves out of range of the strikes. Modack throws a counter combo. A head kick by Modack misses and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Modack throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Murphy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Modack. Modack misses with a hook. Murphy looks to throw the jab but Modack is out of range. Modack lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Murphy throws a jab but it's blocked by Modack. Murphy drives through and clinches with Modack against the cage.
Murphy lands a left hand that snaps the head of Modack backwards. Modack breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Modack lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Modack looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Modack throws a head kick but Murphy moves out of range.
Murphy doesn't manage to clinch there - Modack circles away.
Modack slips under a jab. Modack looks to land a right hand but Murphy moved out of range. Modack slips a straight right by Murphy. Modack misses with a two punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action! Nice defenses there by Murphy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy avoids the head kick by Modack.
Murphy rushes Modack and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Murphy throws a punch but it's blocked by Modack. Modack escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Murphy wants to clinch up but Modack keeps it at a distance. Modack misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Murphy looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Modack gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Terry Modack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murphy throws a lazy right hand but Modack sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Modack throws a leg kick which misses Murphy's front leg but catches the back leg as Murphy tries to avoid it. Murphy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Modack manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Modack lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murphy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murphy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. It looked like Murphy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Murphy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Murphy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Modack can pounce on him.
Murphy wants to clinch up but Modack keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy lands with a nice combination. Modack backs away looking to recover. This has been an exciting period of action! Murphy avoids the head kick by Modack.
The fighters circling - Modack throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Murphy takes a kick to the side of the head. Murphy avoids the head kick by Modack.
Murphy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A slapping leg kick lands for Modack.
Murphy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
It looked like Murphy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A good leg kick by Modack. Murphy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Modack manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nice jab there from Murphy. Murphy doesn't manage to clinch there - Modack circles away.
Modack throws a right and a left that both miss. Modack throws a head kick but Murphy moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Modack. Murphy does a little dance to reset his feet. Murphy just misses with a punch to the body.
Modack tries a head kick but it misses.
Modack throws a combination that misses and Murphy counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy tries to clinch but Modack is having none of it. Murphy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Murphy tries to clinch up. Modack throws a sloppy head kick and Murphy moves out of range easily. Modack throws a head kick that misses and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Modack is rocked! Murphy connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Modack! He's out on his feet! Murphy rushes in and drops Modack with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jim Murphy! In his post fight interview, Jim Murphy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
