Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fred Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Samsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Simmons might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dog Wild Heaven. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Simmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gregor Samsa!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Samsa.
Samsa throws a lazy head kick
and Simmons counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Simmons missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Simmons definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Simmons is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Simmons keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Samsa's head.
Simmons trying to control but Samsa is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Samsa wants to stand up but Simmons is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simmons works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Simmons throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Simmons postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Samsa to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Samsa lands with a thumping leg kick.
A low kick from Samsa misses
and Simmons counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Simmons wants to take a breather but Samsa is having none of it.
Samsa wants to get back to his feet.
Simmons seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Samsa is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Fred Simmons decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
