Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cain Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Colston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Hell's Bells- AC/DC blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Cain Jones has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Colston! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Colston as he avoids it easily. Colston digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs. Jones lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Mike Colston has been cut. Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Colston moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Colston throws a shot to the body.

Jones scores with a one two! Colston had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Colston shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jones pulls Colston in to control the position. Jones controls Colston momentarily but Colston frees himself. Colston connects with a couple of short punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Colston throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Colston with a flurry of punches that miss. Colston preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Colston lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Colston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Colston. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Colston's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Jones trying to control the position.
Colston is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jones definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Colston is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Colston tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colston with a nice head shot there. Colston throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely. Colston with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Colston lands a couple of elbows. Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Colston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Colston cracks Jones with a solid left hand. Colston landing with the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Colston lands a couple of digs. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Colston throws a big right hand that misses. Colston lands a couple of decent looking shots. Colston stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Jones has his hands on Colston's head, controlling the position. Colston postures up.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colston makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Colston with a nice head shot there. Colston postures up.
Colston throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Colston working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Colston is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Colston missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Colston chips away with some ground and pound. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Colston controls the pace. Colston content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. You can't force these things though and Colston defends well.

Jones preventing the sweep. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones wants to control from the top but Colston keeps moving. Colston tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colston is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard. Jones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Colston scores with a couple of nice shots. Colston lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jones manages to get to full guard.

Jones works his foot free and advances to mount. Colston gets back to half guard. Colston wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones seems to be looking for submissions.

Mike Colston showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mike Colston's cut. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing. Colston lands a nice looking body shot.
Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Cain Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Colston showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. Jones takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Colston was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. Colston changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jones misses with a body shot.
Colston clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Colston swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Colston bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Colston is putting a hurting on Jones here, landing some big shots from side control. Colston creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Colston working the head with strikes. Jones on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Colston lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Jones takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Jones is trying to control Colston's posture but Colston avoids it. Colston lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.
Mike Colston has got the better of the ground game so far. Colston controls the position. Colston scores with a couple of short elbows.
Jones is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Check out the look on Colston's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Colston scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Jones is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Colston can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
