The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stever tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ferrall swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Stever enables Ferrall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stever manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Stever pulls Ferrall in to control the position.
Ferrall passes Stever's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Ferrall is pressing down on Stever's thigh, looking to free his foot. Stever is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferrall is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stever sees it coming and defends easily.
