Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bortei Shikigur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shikigur has chosen The Final - Dir En Grey as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Michael King has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bortei Shikigur! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shikigur keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shikigur closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shikigur lands in his opponent's guard. Shikigur throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. King controls Shikigur momentarily but Shikigur frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shikigur trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shikigur's corner. There ya go! There ya go! King tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shikigur not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Shikigur throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as King works some decent striking defense from the bottom. King is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shikigur defends well.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shikigur sprawls well. Shikigur wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet. King fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael King. That's going to take a lot out of him. King has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shikigur is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in King's half guard. Shikigur has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. King taking some punishment here, with Shikigur in his half guard. King is breathing heavily. Shikigur lands with a punch from half guard. Shikigur lands with a punch from half guard. Shikigur working King over with strikes.
King is rocked! Shikigur looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Oh King is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! King is in trouble now - Shikigur has advanced to mount! Shikigur raining down hammerfists from mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shikigur looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has King covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bortei Shikigur! Bortei Shikigur seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
