Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Opie River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holy War (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). River comes to the cage accompanied by Skillet - Monster . War has chosen The Pretty Reckless - Heaven Knows as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Opie River! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Holy War! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch lands to the side of River 's head but he takes it in his stride. War steps to the side to avoid the strikes from River. And an attempted straight right on the counter from War! But no joy. River has been working on his boxing with his coaches at River's Edge Gym, DOW in the buildup to the fight. War throws a lazy right hand but River sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. River misses with a body shot.
River swings and misses with a hook to the body.

River closes the distance and pushes War back into the cage. River tries to throw a body punch but War avoids it by throwing River back against the cage. A shot in the inside from River. War escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
River throws a jab when War was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. River walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. River gets cracked with a nice right hand there by War. War uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by River.
War stuns River with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! War thumps River with a low kick. War misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. River swings for the body but War moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from War on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. War fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt River. River has a takedown stuffed. War misses with a leg kick. River tries to counter with a takedown but War is quick to defend against it. War connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. A jab from War does it's job there. War connects with a body shot that sends River's belly button to the back. War tries to bum rush River with a series of wild strikes but River uses good footwork to avoid the assault. War throws a head kick that half lands.
River throws a body punch but War moves out of range. War throws an overhand right that lands on River's shoulder, as River tries to avoid the shot. War fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. River looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. War lands a really nice looking cross but River seems unphased.
War has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. River's hands are dropping dangerously low here and War connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! River scrambles back to his feet. War throws a leg kick which misses River's front leg but catches the back leg as River tries to avoid it. War lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but River circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. War checks the leg kick nicely there.
War keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
War throws an off balance right hand
and River connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. War takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
An inside leg kick lands from War. War blocks a leg kick. River throws a low kick but it's checked well by War. War appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. War moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. War throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. War is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! River had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. River misses the shot to the body. River chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before War can pounce on him.

War connects with a solid leg kick. River looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. War slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. River's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. River lands a couple of elbows. River trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. War avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. War working a defensive guard here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now War is on top in guard.
River controlling the position. River keeping moving, preventing War from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. River tries to land a sweep but no joy. War trying to control the position from guard on top but River is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. River manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. War manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. River trying to control the position from guard on top but War is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. War working for a triangle but River defends it easily.

Holy War dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
River shoots in looking for a takedown but War manages to keep the fight standing, pushing River's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Holy War seems to be getting the better of the standup. War scores with the left hand. River knows he should have avoided that one. War has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. River is looking to wear down War with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. War steps to the side to avoid the strikes from River. War dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on River. That did some damage! River throws a low kick but it's checked well by War. War flicks out a counter leg kick but River steps away. War looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
War throws a leg kick that misses. River loads up on a big right hand but War slips the punch. War connects with a solid leg kick. River drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. River controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. River trying to control the position from guard on top but War is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. River trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. River missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Opie River overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. River pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. War is keeping the position for now. River loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. War working for a triangle but River defends it easily.
River wants to control from the top but War keeps moving. River won't allow War to sweep him here. War is trying to keep River in close.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. River misses with a low kick.
River tries to clinch up. River throws a wild body kick that War sees coming a mile off. Holy War is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. River lands with a hook. War tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. River misses with the combination.

River throws the left hand but War avoids the punch easily. River fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and War has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. River moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. River walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. War throws a leg kick and River holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. River stalling the fight.
War lands a shot to the body. River keeps control of War as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. War is trying to force a seperation but River has the dominant position. A short right from War on the inside. War breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
War throws out a loose jab but River uses good head movement to avoid it. Some bone on bone action there as River checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. River takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. War tries to keep at a distance but River has taken the fight into the clinch. War stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. River misses with a hook from the clinch. War has a couple of punches blocked by River.
War has been the more effective fighter overall so far. River softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! River gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. War looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
River avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

River got a little sloppy there for a moment and War has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, River has managed to get both his arms back between War's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Holy War will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

War lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. River takes a body punch but keeps moving. Thud! ouch! good body kick from War - that will leave a mark!
War throws a quick inside leg kick. River blocks a jab. War is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by River. War throws a push kick but River slaps the foot to one side. River misses with a body kick. River misses the jab. War lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nice sprawl there from War as River shoots in. River gets a double leg takedown into War's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. War is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. River works his way to full guard. Good work. War in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. War being controlled here momentarily. River looking for subs off his back but War has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. War trying to control from half guard but River is working away. War is looking for a kimura but River is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for War to get the leverage. Opie River has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! River is defending against the submission attempts here by War.
War thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed River's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. River wants to improve his position but War is controlling well.
River looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and War pushes past his half guard into mount! War landing shots from mount. The referee warns River that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
War landing punches. War with the ground and pound from mount. War jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but River manages to avoid the submission attempt. River is looking for a sweep.
And that's the end of the fight! Holy War comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got War winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
