The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sari lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rodrigues shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sari wants to sweep but no luck.
Rodrigues drops back looking for a leg! Sari is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sari manages to kick Rodrigues off! Rodrigues jumps back into Sari's guard.
Rodrigues drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rodrigues jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rodrigues is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sari has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rodrigues looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Sari gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Rodrigues seems to be working for a kimura but Sari defends the submission attempt.
Rodrigues stands up out of the half guard.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Rodrigues.
Sari is trying to get back to half guard.
Rodrigues decides to stand back up.

Sari fails with the takedown.
Rodrigues appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Rodrigues slaps away a takedown attempt from Sari, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sari misses the shot to the body.
Rodrigues dodges the punch combination from Sari.
Rodrigues looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rodrigues is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sari is just riding it out for now. Rodrigues eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rodrigues wants to control but Sari is keeping him busy.
Rodrigues seems to be working for a kimura but Sari defends the submission attempt.
Rodrigues is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sari is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
